I am a retired businessman who enjoys genealogy as a hobby. I find that genealogy and "Find a grave" go hand in hand and its easy to do both at the same time and both are very rewarding. In adding Memorials for those in my family I have added memorials for many non-relatives in hope that it will help others as others have helped me. If I've submitted a relative of yours and you would like it transferred to you, just ask. I live in the Omaha metro area and thats where most of my photos were taken.Researching Bender, Ausdemore,Hittner, German,Ternus, Bockholt, Hatzenbuehler, Kramer, Wickelman and many others. Most of My family came from Germany in the Mid 1800s and settled in the North Eastern Nebraska German farming comunities and spread from there. In my research if I run across a grave of someone in the Military that is Killed in Action they get special attention and i try to find out as much as i can about them and put it on the Memorial. We owe it to these Heros and they should not be forgotten.I authorize anyone to use my photos for any reason."Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." ~~~Princess Diana|

Thank you Loren, for sharing your views and your vast experience while associated with Find-A-Grave memorials. I had previously recused a bare-bones memorial on a soldier (PFC Kehr, #54681130)(KIA 1945), that had the incorrect burial place and no additional info at all. Brought it up to date. When I seen a query from the Netherlands (Beltrami County, MN), I thought to myself that I may be able to help, then looked at Find-A-Grave and Ancestry.com to see if I could be of assistance.
I now realize they all cannot be as simple as the first one. Believe I have found his mother and if so will create a memorial for her and then link TSgt Curb with his mother and siblings. I guess I get some satisfaction out of this; at least it is very interesting. I have two photo requests out and a request for an obituary on his mother. Hopefully, I can assist the person from the Netherlands in some small way. Nice corresponding and sharing with you. Best Wishes.

Loren, you added crew photos to the memorial for Lt. Alfred Flower
I invite you to add the photos to the pages I created for the other crew names, if you have time.

Hello "Loren"; First, let me extend a heartfelt Thank You for the attention you are giving to the memorials of our fallen warriors. Next, the above person is a deceased (KIA) military man listed on Find-A-Grave with two different memorials (Find A Grave# 56288946 and Find A Grave# 33274627). The first, #56288946, indicates he is buried at Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England. The second, #33274627, indicates he is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Gemmell, Minnesota.
I believe that Cyril Curb is actually buried in England and that the stone in Gemmell is a memorial type stone. There are photo requests submitted for both locations which may throw some light on this mystery. I see that you have placed a picture of the crew of TSgt Curb's plane on his memorial. I was wondering if you had any thoughts that could help in clearing up the question on his actual burial place. Best Wishes.

I know some Bender's here in Brookings, SD. There were quite a few other Cavender's there? I took pictures of alol f them. I also posted pictures of the cemetery and small country church that is still used today. It's actually the oldest still running church in South Dakota. Started by Native Americans. I couldn't believe there were no cemetery pictures yet on the page! If you go look make sure to open all of the pictures so tat you see the plaque with a little history of the site. There are also a LOT of graves in this cemetery that aren't listed. I took quite a few pictures last night but it was evening and I was losing light. I'm adding all that I took...including every Cavender that was marked. I think the closest thing I saw was on the back of a stone that said they were parents of a Roberta Cavender? Sorry I couldn't help more. There were also a lot of service grave markers. I'm always so disappointed not to find a requested stone.

It is interesting...I'm going to do some more digging into county historical records to see if I can figure this one out!

I was fulfilling the picture request for this individual and noticed you had placed an obit for him. This couldn't be the right individual because this John C. Sandall died in 1918....the one you posted was reported MIA during World War II. I realized that there was no memorial for YOUR John C. SAndall, so created one (#132751382). I also have place the picture for him already.
