Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired federal employee who fell into doing some online family research for a friend of mine - a McKenzie - and now I'm in so deep I can't get out! Most of you probably know the feeling. But it's a harmless obsession which I enjoy so I'll stick with it until I pull out the rest of my disappearing hair. I try to post most of my findings on Find A Grave so if you're interested in the McKenzie family who settled in central Missouri after emigrating from North Carolina via Kentucky, just enter the last name - mckenzie - in the box to the right and take a look! As for my own family, some surnames would be Fallas, Fallass, Bray, Oechsli, Mills - all of those in the northeastern quadrant of the lower 48 - and, on the Swedish side, Nilsson and Waldemarsson in the province of Skåne län.

RE: Rev. Roy Osborne Chaney
Thanks so much -- I appreciate it! I have left the "e" off my grandpa's name for now, but will ask my dad about it next week when I see him. It seems that the family has used both spellings. In all the data I can find, the grandfather, Osborn Chaney, used only the spelling without the "e," so that's why I've left it off his son and grandson. Where did you find this wonderful photo of Grandpa?

Tom,

Good luck trying to contact Rita Osborne. She has taken her contact info down because of all the problems she has caused putting up memorials in the wrong cemetery. Here there are 3 Catholic Cemeteries, Calvary, Holy Cross and St Joseph. All the records for all three are kept at Calvary, so, she is using burial lists to add memorials, and since they are kept at Calvary, that's what she is putting up. Myself, and MANY others have told her that she is putting up hundreds of memorials at Calvary for people that are buried in Holy Cross or St Joseph. It does no good. I put up these memorials by photographing in the cemetery where they actually are, so I know they are correct. Therefore, I won't delete mine since they are in the correct cemetery. I really don't care anymore what she is doing, she is an idiot. You may send it to Find a Grave and let them deal with her. I'm not mad at you, I appreciate knowing when I have created a duplicate, but my feeling is that she should take hers down since the Kresses are not in Calvary. I am one of many who are upset with her, but all she cares about is adding massive numbers to her bio, and if they are in the wrong cemetery, then who cares? That's her attitude. Good luck dealing with her.

Mark

Hi Tom,
Thanks for sharing the story about Ella. The deer at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery are safe within the fences but with the good/bad intentions of humans, they sometimes suffer as well. Humans just can't leave well enough alone. I have dozens of deer photos from my visits there but only saw that large buck the one time. Never saw him again after that.
Appreciate your message. Thank you.
Best,
Jami

Hello Tom,
thanks for adding the passenger manifest photo to his memorial. I did consider your suggestion to change his year of birth to 1839 but declined it. I did however, add that information to the bio courtesy of you. I usually go with what is engraved on the marker, whether 100% accurate or not. Keeps it simple and consistent most times. Making changes based on information outside of the grave marker engraving can get confusing. I'm always willing to add and update whatever in the bio.
Thanks again.
Best,
Jami

RE: John Northwood
Hi Tom, I've posted a full photo of john north woods grave but I think I managed to get all four sides on camera. I can email those images to you if you wish. It's easy to find so I'm happy to go and write down inscriptions if they are not clear on the images. Sue

It so happens that I went to the Stuart cone glass museum on Sunday Tom and there is information about him there as to be expected. I actually have work and girlguiding connections to Richardson hall which was owned by the firm he worked for I believe.

Just down the road Tom and can't promise as it's quite overgrown in parts but I'll take a walk in the next few days.
