Bio and Links
Bio Photo This is my engagement photo taken in November of 2004 and in 2006 I married (for the first time) my husband Steve Romero. We live in Moreno Valley, CA and share our home with our 2 dogs, Max and Maddie and our 2 cats, Roxie and Sadie.

I have been researching my ancestors for over 40 years now. Started out with pen and pencil and wrote letters and more letters to funeral homes, city and county and state clerk's offices, libraries, cemeteries, and more.....did research the old fashioned way using an excel spread sheet. Finally found Family Tree Maker and Find A Grave.

Any photos posted by me of my family belong to me. If you are related and wish to use the photos with your relatives I DO INSIST THAT YOU MAKE SURE THAT YOU NOTE THAT I AM THE OWNER OF THESE PHOTOGRAPHS. Do not claim them as belonging to you. I do the same for any photos on find a grave that may link to my ancestors.

I think Find a Grave is a great resource when doing research, however I believe that if you are related to someone, no matter how far, and the creator of the memorial has no connection to the individual, the memorial should be transferred to the individual who is related. I totally disagree with Find a Grave's policy on this matter. I also really get peeved at individuals who post memorial's and refuse to transfer to a relative. This is not a contest and you don't get a blue ribbon for posting the most memorials. Get a clue people and stop being so selfish!

Woman dies of exposure
Traverse City Record Eagle
Thursday, January 14, 1985
Section 1, Page 8

Traverse City - City police today are investigating the death of a woman just outside the Hillview Terrace senior citizen apartment complex.
The woman, identified as Olinda Grice, a resident of the complex, apparently wandered away from her apartment and died of exposure, according to police. Her body was spotted this morning by a passerby on a two-track road between Hillview and Rennie St.
A preliminary invesgiation (investigation) bu Tom Evon of the Traverse City Police Department turned up so signs of foul play.
Grice, clad only in slippers, slacks, a knit shirt and sweater, apparently fell down on the steep hill leading to Rennie Street and could not get up. She apparently had been carrying several other items of clothing. A boxfull of shoes apparently belonging to the woman was found at the top of the hill.
Authorities at Hillview did not release Grice's age, but a police officer on the scene estimated it at 70 to 75.
During their investigation, officers said Grice apparently was not out overnight, She apparently had been dead only a few hours when spotted by a motorist on Boughey Street east of Rennie.
Temperatures this morning were in the single digits.

Sadie Conklin
Thank you for the info for Sadie. Sorry, I do not have any luck in finding obits, I do not have any. Some of my research comes from actually going to the Hall of Records (in the dungy dark room) and looking at death certificates. I see that a memorial for Rosanna Bow was created by the photographer that took Sadie's photo. Good luck in your search.

RE: Transfer's
Dear Joan,

I'm more than happy! to have transferred you some Find A Grave memorials.

Wish more would ask... Since, most of my Memorials i'm not related & Attempting to find someone who fit's within the 4 Generation's Rule is nearly impossible.

Experience shows most have busy lives & they don't have the time for this. Seems, most just don't care who Creates or Maintains ones Memorial as long as it's Useful and Complete/Accurate to the Best information as possible.

So! if you have Obituaries for any of my Roselawn 'Find A Grave' memorials? you'd like to enter. Please, let's make each of these the Best they can be.

Thank You! & GOD BLESS.
Ready for Winter to be over... :)

Frank Conklin
Sorry, no transfer, Frank Conklin father was Charles Conklin, son of Mariah Anderson Conklin. Click on Frank's memorial , then on Charles' memorial. You will see Alice Estella Conklin Ballinger, my husband's great grandmother. If you are related, who are you related to?

RE: Nissen Family
The Paul Nissen in our family came from Germany and married to Margaret Rassmussen . Our first generation of Nissen in the United States . This family line is very difficult to find. Been trying to search the Nissen line even thru DNA, I am having a hard time connecting . Sorry I didn't respond sooner .

Shirley Harris
I received your edit requests. Was Shirley the daughter of George & Mabel? The WI death index lists her as Shirley Jean, but I see that George & Mabel had a daughter named Joan born about the same time.

The Wisconsin death index says that Shirley died in Waukesha rather than Wauwatosa. Where is the Wauwatosa location coming from?

I want to make sure that the info I add is correct.

Thanks for your help!

Caroline Howard
You asked that I remove Caroline Howard as her own sibling on her memorial. You'll notice that her name appears in gray... I'm not sure why, but this is the way all people show up when linked to parents. There's nothing I can do about it.

I'll be happy to provide the additional information you'd like added to her memorial.

Hope this helps!

Re: Tile Stafford #26173134
Thank you for the notes on Tile Stafford. I did already have that information on his memorial from my own researches. I'm sorry but I prefer not to transfer his memorial as he is a direct ancestor of mine. I hope to link him to the rest of my family through the grandchild that is in my line. I have been unable to find the location of her grave but hope to, one day. Thanks again.

Philo and Frances Stafford
Not sure if you have requested a transfer for them. Try please. I have a couple of times but not heard from the contributor about the transfer or if they are related to the Staffords. Would be nice to add more info and links to the memorials.
