Bio and Links
Charles V. Waid (Chuck) born in San Francisco, California, married his 9th cousin, Barbara L. Brown. We have 100's of Massachusetts ancestors.

Lived in Oxford, Massachusetts in the early 2000's, for 3 years just to document our ancestors, and now back in Bonney Lake, Washington. Have been doing genealogy since 1979 and full time since 1996.

My wife and I both descend from Lot Conant and Experince Mitchell. Both men coming to America on the "Ann" in 1621.

I ONLY maintain our families and their family members. I will transfer members of those families if they are not direct ancestors of ours.

We are always happy to share genealogical information about our ancestors with our "cousins".

Butrum
I am assuming you are related to the Butrum family since you asked for the transfer of William Butrum, Find A Grave Memorial# 23127841. I am asking your opinion on whether or not you think Emma Clara Carter, Find A Grave #140100568, is the daughter of William and Elizabeth Butrum.

RE: Pauper Cemetery
Sad to say I've not heard the non-payment of taxes about the Pauper Cemetery that you mention. I have in my file several articles from the 1927 Tacoma newspapers that are titled: "Slipshod Burials in Potter's Field" ... and "Potter's Field Conditions Bad ..." The articles state the neighbors were upset about "unkempt appearances and fees paid to undertakers." The local undertakers hired persons to dig the graves and many were left open over night, with bodies in them waiting to an additional burial the next day. Folks were also worried about "germs" coming form the graves left open during a time when Tacoma was hit by a "plague" and children would play in the cemetery - at times with bones of the deceased (I don't know how true that last info was) so the County decided to close the Cemetery and only pay for indigents to be cremated - which is still what the County does. Probably more info than you care for - but that's what I know.

RE: Pauper Cemetery
I would have followed your suggestion about putting more in Find-A-Grave about the Cemetery, but the current "caretaker" firm does not want much said about it for accident/liability issues if people start walking around in the Cemetery. My guess is there are hundreds more buried there (during the years it was used) by funeral firms that have long been out of business or where funeral home records were lost/destroyed (Ex: P.Oscar Storlie) when owner died as with Storlie. Thanks for your kind note.
