THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR VISITS!
I was born & raised in Ironton,Ohio. I now reside in Corbin,Ky. Virgil was my only child. Tony Thibodaux set his Memorial up. He's related on my husbands side of the family. My world revolved around Virgil. He was married & a father of a wonderfull little boy. My hobbies are Wheres George. When I hugged Virgil by that time I never dreamed of it being the last hug he would ever give me.
I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH
I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH;I DID NOT RAISE MY HAND.
ALL I DID WAS HAVE A CHILD WHO GREW TO BE THAT MAN.
HE DID HIS JOB WITH HONOR.
HE WAS NOT AFRAID TO FIGHT;HE WAS NOT AFRAID TO DIE.
THE BABY I HELD IN MY ARMS,THE BOY WHO BECAME A MAN,HE PUT HIMSELF IN DANGER.
HE SAID NOT TO WORRY;HE SAID,"I WILL COME HOME."
THOSE WORDS COME BACK TO HAUNT ME...SPOKEN OVER A PHONE.
THE KNOCK ON THE DOOR IS ALWAYS JUST A MOMENT AGO;THE TEARS IN MY EYES, THE PAIN THAT BREAKS MY SOUL
FOR I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH;I DID NOT RAISE MY HAND.ALL I DID WAS RAISE A CHILD WHO GREW TO BE THAT MAN.
THE BABY THAT I HELD,THE CHILD I WATCHED GROW FILLED MY HEART WITH SO MUCH JOY AS ONLY MOTHERS CAN KNOW THE MEMORIES OF HIS LIFE WILL STAY WITH ME FOREVER. THE CONNECTION OF OUR HEARTS CAN NEVER BE SEVERED.
HE IS NOW A FALLEN HERO AND I A GOLD STAR MOTHER,BECAUSE HE GAVE HIS LIFE. BUT I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH;I DID NOT RAISE MY HAND.
ALL I DID WAS RAISE A BOY WHO GREW TO BE THAT MAN.
It's been almost 5 years now & my pain is still so intense it hurts to breathe. I have found some true friends here. I have been trying to move forward but without Virgil it isn't working. I visit often but somedays I just can't stay online or am away from home. I do notice each visitor Virgil has had while I was away & appreciate everyone remembering him.

Traci's Mom
Token you left for Traci Fields
Judy, because of you and other wonderful findagrave friends, Traci now has 5,501 flowers/tokens, and her birthday is a little over a week away. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We appreciate you all so much.

I'm in awe! To show you more of what Traci was like, I posted the following on her memorial page,

"Traci, my angel, I can see the big grin on your face for all the flowers you're receiving on your memorial page. You're telling me, "Mom, why are you so surprised there are so many good people in this world? You should have known that....." "You're right, sweetheart, I should have known".

Traci was a person of strong faith, and GOD took excellent care of her, and helped her through all her hardships! Her faith never waivered.

GOD, bless them all, and thank you for your wonderful gift to Traci.

We've received an outpouring of so much love for Traci. I will try to get to everyone's site and leave a flower/token for at least one of their loved ones. However, there are so many of you, it will take me a while.

I wanted to thank you for visiting my daughter's memorial page.

I am posting a link below to a song on You Tube which I think you will get some comfort from. The song is Dancing In The Sky by Dani and Lizzy (two sisters). I listen to it often.

Special Thank-you!
Dear Judy: I wanted to thank you for the flowers you left at the memorials of my grandfather, David H. Roland, and my daughter-in-law, Cindy Bryant. I am still in the process of adding on to these memorials.

I also wanted you to know that I read your bio and I want you to know that you are not alone. There are many of us who find it hard to go on each day without our loved ones. I cannot explain it, but somehow we find a little comfort on this website.

Please let me offer my sincere condolences on the loss of your son to you and your family. May you find boundless joy and love in the grandson he left.

Thank you again - Jayne

Your token for Traci Fields
Beth, thank you so much for the token you left for Traci. It is VERY MUCH appreciated. I've been letting all my relatives (which aren't very many) know that I'm trying to get to 5,000 tokens for Traci by her birthday and yours helps in that count.

Thank you again.
