Bio Photo "When I go to a cemetery, I don't just see tombstones. I see families there. I see history there. I see much more than just a stone..."

I've been working on genealogy for about 10 years now. I stumbled upon this site and so impressed with the idea that I decided to volunteer and add graves as I ran across them. It saddens me to see the state of some of the graveyards I've visited, but I feel like I'm helping save part of history by photographing the stones that are still there. If I can be of any help just let me know.

"Genealogy is the art of collecting tidbits of the lives of those who came before us. And a genealogist sorts, organizes and nurtures this info for the purpose of paying it forward to a future generation's hands. The bucket is in our hands now, for a moment it's "ours", but the rest of the brigade is waiting for that pail of water to be passed to the next soul." Gerblady

if you would like a transfer of a memorial, please use the "edit" button on the memorial and state your relationship. I will gladly transfer memorials within 4 direct generations. Others I will be happy to consider. :-)

Please remove your second photo of my dear aunt's grave. It isn't a contest to see who takes the best picture, and you are infringing on my memorial. I don't need two photos of her marker.
Thank you

RE: Glen Cove
Glen Cove I have mainly worked on those who are related to both the Craig and Dalrymples.

Wait until Spring or warm weather. The person in the office last year stated that everyone in the cemetery was up on their computer. IF that is true, then It is a matter of going into their office and copying what they have and taking photos of those that that headstones. I know that some do not longer have headstones and never did.

I do not know if they are by sections or names.....

Carolyn Craig

PS. I would be glad to take photos of headstone compared to the listing they might have. It would be a big undertaking. Probably better to do a section at a time. and upload them to FINDAGRAVE.

I am working on Little Blue River BAPTIST Cemetery in Rush COunty, Indiana since 2009. I finally got all the photos in, except for two that have been buried their in the last two years.
Had both knees replaces so, it has limited working in cemeteries.
Hope to get there this year to add those two image to the site. I am at 98% complete with Little Blue River Cemetery.....yeah

Understand completely, she thought my disclaimer that the person was not buried that cemetery, was wrong and that I only needed to notify her. BUT, when they turn their message area off there is no choice. Also It put notice to anyone requesting a photo of the headstone that they will not find it in the cemetery.
I have a similiar photo for all my lost, missing or those buried without headstones in a cemetery so you do not go on a 'wild goose chase' for something that know longer exist or never was.

She was not happy with me, but I did find her on Ancestry.com and sent both who had the Rigsbee the information.
Only Lydia W/S. Ridsbee Worth I did not know wher she belonged, but that she was a member of the Friends Church, GUESS where she put her.....right, Little Blue RIver FRIENDS CHurch, I do not think she has learned anything about putting people in a cemetery, just because you think they belong there.....UGH like hitting a brick wall with some people....

RE: Rigsbee, Alveron 126617899
Alveron is in the Friends Cemetery of Little Blue River and Adrian is in East Arlington Cemetery, But the Lydia Rigsbee Worth is not listed in any of the cemeteries .....

Why do people think they can put just any body in a cemetery?
My Great Grandfather is buried somewhere in Fleming County, Kentucky, but no headstone or record of his burial....so just stick in a cemetery, yuck I could not do that thinking someone would try to find him in that cemetery.

I have put a disclamer photo which states that this person is not buried in this cemetery with a note on all as to where they are actually located or do not know, just not this cemetery.

Frustating, I am trying to get it finished. I am at 98%, 2 new do not have headstones up yet, so I am waiting for those.
My written list is 643, and Findagrave is 625, I know as least 5 are not buried in the cemetery, so that takes it down to 620, with 25 missing, so now I am going row by row, got six rows done and found two missed people and two gravemakers that were put in separate becasue they were located in the next row. Headstone at the head of the casket the gravemaker at the foot. So the missing is down to 21 missing, 17 more rows to double check.

Do you know how I can get them removed?

Trying to clean up the cemetery and get all the photos in and now have to deal with people that do not know where people are buried or put them in the wrong cemetery. UGH>>>>>>>>

Any Help would be appreciated.

RE: Andersons
You are welcome. Just to let you know, there is a Phyllis Elaine Anderson, wife of Charles, 1927 - 2004, buried next to them. I would be happy to post a headstone photo, if you start a memorial.

Hi,

Thank you for all the pictures that you post of grave markers!! I have an ancestor that you have posted pictures for. I am requesting your permission to use them in my genealogy database and a possible book (years from now) that will be given to family members. It is Nathaniel Cunningham at Franklin Cemetery, Milton, Indiana.

Thank you,

Linda Rogers
