Bio and Links
Bio Photo These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They may or may not sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead.

~ Robert G. Ingersoll

Pictures and Bios:

For me a simple attribution, Michael V. Drachman 2000-2015 works for any of my bio's for personal use. (Pictures ).

Should you use my pictures and wish to publish them elsewhere, say Ancestry or other similar PAY sites, please,, Post the link to the site here at Find A Grave..

Please remember that even though Ancestry has acquired Findagrave, Ancestry is a pay site, posting pictures there, or similar pay sites, transfers your ownership, like FB. This is mentioned (in very fine print) in all of their disclosures.

Findagrave was built by thousands of volunteers who's time was donated for the benefit of family members and friends,,who in many cases are not able to visit the resting places of their family members. These efforts were always intended to be free of charge and should remain that way,,,,,

"I have a burr under the Saddle on this one" that being pay sites "profiting" from Volunteers work....

In the end, never let yourself become complacent to those who have went before us. Always make time to remember the sacrifices that have been made for us by our Ancestors.

Never forget the Men and Women of our Armed Forces who have guarded our Constitution with their lives, some giving all to secure our rights, liberties and freedoms.

Remember the 100's of thousands soldiers who never came home, many who lie in a unmarked graves, never found or a foreign cemetery as that would indeed make those lives,, lost in vein... Reach out,, honor a Veteran.

Allow us not to embrace any politician. aristocrat, celebrity, who in the name of change, forgets or attempts to direct us to think otherwise..

A Nation which forgets its Defenders,
will itself be forgotten ..

.. God bless America..

Your Opinion Please.
In an effort to keep this work from yours and others Kind heart from being poached, I posted this at the bottom of Private Glen E Stewart's memorial.

This memorial belongs to the Volunteer Hearts for Find A Grave Memorial# 141182780
My Sincerest Gratitude goes to
SLCCemVets (#48337779)
Michael V Drachman (#47533584)

I use Original Census records and find Indexes for them Free from great volunteers for Family Search.
This Hero's information should not be gathered by So MANY VOLUNTEERS and put on PAY sites WITHOUT AMAZING GRATITITUDE TO THE VOLUNTEERS ..

I do not know what makes it to A. but I do know my stories of research has been copy pasted to Family search without any acknowledgement that the poster did not do this themselves. Information??? I find a lot there as well as DUP-SUP or FHL and I pay for some of it--but my stories my family or people who get a hold of me and lead me through their lives are dear to me.
.I am concerned I do not have the right to be ticked putting this online and still calling it mine.
I would like your opinion. IF you do not mind.

Mike I had to go through my tears of joy and excitement to even get to your page to THANK YOU for your Kindness.
Reading your bio, I had to readjust the bur in my saddle over pay sites taking our volunteer energy and claiming it as from their researchers and Indexers.
I boycott Anc... I will not name it and avoid the link. I have found good info when I use it at the FHL but so much of it is completely WRONG, name match post it. Regardless of document being 30 years AFTER person is dead and Clear across the country from where person died. Family members from spouse to kids are no match but hey. The NAME matches. post it so our tree looks nice and full.
Pure bunk and i have told Anc.. employees who tried to talk me into subscribing while I was at FHL. No way, no how. Your company preys on the efforts of the obsessive indexers on Family Search. I use them myself, I am not an indexer, but when i find a grave, I TRY to find Everyone in the plot and Family. I Use their hard work to link family, and Know HOW much information is down through the KINDNESS of those who VOLUNTEER. FREE OF CHARGE.
The Anc... employee walked away. I recieved my assistance by one of the many VOLUNTEER staff and was able to carry on.
Okay there is my bur. Sorry for venting.

I Reach out to people on Find A Grave and So MANY OF YOU come to my aide. I would not have known Glen's Cememtery if I had not reached out to SLCVets. THANKS TO HIM.
YOU CAME to my aide AGAIN with full grace and I am so excited and still in tears, that a little boy I found in the 1920 Torrey Census, is recognized as the HERO he is.
I do not think I will ever bring the tears and joy, you just brought to me, but please understand, I am trying to pay YOUR KINDNESS FORWARD.

I hope it was nothing serious that kept you away this year. But Your passed trips WOW. I will never be able to walk through such a place. I have a vivid immagination and benefit Greatly from your amazing photoes.

Fred Kirk

Thanks for letting me know about the new link for Gerald Kirk. I had looked several times for his burial place but had never found it!

Yes, I would be glad for the information concerning another son.

I knew "Grace" because she lived with her son, Paul, and his wife, in her later years. They were special to me.

Thanks again,

Thank you so very much for the pictures and text. While the pictures are new, the family's understanding was that, had Leroy stayed aboard, his likelihood of survival would have been much greater. We are greatly appreciative of your work and contribution.
