Bio and Links
Bio Photo After discovering Find A Grave, I've become hooked. It's so true: "you can't do just one."

If you have any corrections, links or additions, let me know through the "edit" tab which is on the top right of the memorial page. I try to be perfect, but so far....:o(

Please feel free to use any of my cemetery or headstone photos for whatever purpose.
TRANSFERRING Management: To be fair to all, I follow Find-A-Grave's guidelines.
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

Just use the "edit" tab and let me know how you are related and your FAG contributor number.
RESEARCHING: I am looking for parents and/or siblings of Austin Goodwin Broton [aka Broughton, Brotton, Button, Brayton] (1856-1946). He's my great grandfather and a bit of a mystery. His mother may have been a Goodwin, born in Scotland and died in New York about 1870...we think.
Most importantly...have fun!

Eugene Powers +
So many sad stories like young Eugene's; so many over the years go to the various rivers up here to cool off and drown in the process. Thanks for the information.

Also, if you are interested, I came across a fascinating woman named Alice Valensin (1848-1849) at St. Mary's Cemetery. Her dates initially interested me and later I discovered a lot of information about her. She had such a simple headstone and such a complicated and interesting life.

Yes temperatures are rising! My brother once told me that there are two seasons up here, one brown and one green. Think we are now entering the "brown season".

Thanks for Eugene's (sad) story. I added a paragraph based on the article, so you can remove the news obit. Thanks again. V

Arabella Potter
Phillis, another by the way.......... I plan to spend a little time at Sacramento City Cemetery this weekend. Will try to get a photo of Arabella and her son Robert's final resting place. If you look at the default photo on Arabella's memorial page, interestingly her plot is just a couple sections behind "the Rock" towards the front of the cemetery just off of Broadway. Are there any other photos you'd like me to take or plots you'd like me to find?

Arabella and Paraclete
Thanks for the connection to Paraclete. Such a great name. I looked him up in the online California Digital Newspaper collection and found a nice article about him (October 18, 1892 in the Sacramento Daily Union)which gave me a few items about Arabella. Such adventurous folks back then!

Grummitt, Ethel & William J. grave pictures
Graves: # Ethel 73335093 and William's "Jack" # 73335105, I have a picture of my in-laws grave pictures without the shadow on them. Would you be so kind as to take yours off so I can add the pictures?
Thank You, Janet Grummitt

James Moore's headstone
Hi Phyllis,
Thank you for your kind message – it was my pleasure to clear Mr Moore’s headstone to take a picture of it.

Hi Phillis,
Added the picture.....................thanks for the note. All is temperate and Spring like up here. Many lovely Easter eggs, flowers, etc. added to the final resting places of loved ones (especially over at St. Mary's where I am currently adding memorials). Happy Trails, V

RE: Francis & Lewis Page Photos
Yes. Please use them. They should be large enough for what ever use you have for them. Thank you so much!

William Proctor Lamb
I do not know if I am related to William P. Lamb or not. My 3rd Gr. Grandfather was William M. Lamb and it is possible that William P. Lamb is also descended from him, but I cannot find the missing links.
Thanks for the information.
