Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am still new to the whole genealogy thing. I have only been doing for about 15 years. I am hoping that my children will continue the search.

My Paternal Great Grand father and Mother came from Scotland (but met in Illinois) and my Maternal Family is from Connecticut from the 1652ish. I am in the St. Louis, MO area.

I am working on the Stewart, Robertson, Sage and English Families currently.

Photography is relaxing for me...so I take photos and add them. There is cemetery that I am working on that across the street from my children's school. If you want one of my photos, that is fine, but I do want credit. I however would prefer that they are not added to Ancestry. It is more that you might credit me, but the person that acquires it from you might not.

PLEASE -Turn on your messages. You are missing out on A LOT of info that people may want to share with you.

Please remember, when you start researching a new geographic area, that those living in the area, probably know more than you, but there are some that don't. Like St. Louis City and St. Louis County are very separate, but very connected. Please look at an actual map that has city and county boarders, that is dated for that era, NOT a current map. For example, much of what is warehouses now by river, used to be housing.

Thank you.

Just another twig in the tree.

RE: Calvary Cemetery
Matt is also a man of his word. I am home from lunch and he left me a msg. that there is a written record for Patrick that must have been overlooked. Section 1, Row 5, Lot 455, Grave 1. Buried in a "regular" casket. If you are wandering around the cemetery and can take a photo, that would be great. I will update the photo request. Matt will update the website with that information. RE: Calvary Cemetery
Annie was not born in St. Louis so she would not have been baptized there. She also was single. There are 3 catholic churches near where she lived at 2012 Franklin Street. St. Alphonsus Liguori Rock Catholic Church and St. Nicholas Catholic Church, which seems African-American today. I think I can ignore, Saint Stanislaus Church, as it is a Polish church. I'll give St. Alphonsus a call and see if they have any funeral records. Does that make sense to you?

RE: Calvary Cemetery
Patrick O'Keefe. Also called the Cemetery this afternoon and spoke with Matt. He said he did not have anything in the records he had at hand, but would look a bit deeper and get back to me tomorrow. He was very helpful and is going the extra mile to see if Patrick O'Keefe is there. Isn't that nice? Elizabeth

RE: Calvary Cemetery
Annie O'Keefe -- Kathy, I called Donnelly Funeral Home this afternoon. No luck. They have not kept their records back that far. It was said with regret so I think they recognize it would have been useful to have saved them. Now, with technology they can. Elizabeth

RE: St. Louis Calvary
Before I go to Calvary again, I will grab as many requests as I can. I just don't get to north STL very often.

RE: St. Louis Calvary
I don't get up to Calvary very often. I'm a south county guy. Resurrection and Sts. Peter & Paul are more my neighborhood. I have quite a few ancestors in Calvary that I've taken photos of and will upload them, but Calvary is too far for me to volunteer for and it's not a neighborhood I want to spend much time traversing.

My email is bnix@swbell.net if you need something, but don't add me to the volunteer list for Calvary. Thanks.

Bob

RE: Calvary Cemetery
You put me to shame. I should have looked at those resources first, but frankly, forgot about them in my rush (to get to work most probably). Thanks for doing the leg work. I will call the cemetery and see what they have to say as there is evidence he should be there. Thanks again. Elizabeth from Brooklyn

Showalter @ Calvary
Thank you so much for photographing the spot where Wm. & Maria Showalter are buried. I was saddened to learn that they do not have graver markers. ~ Chris
