Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a California girl who grew up in Marin County. Moved to Solano County in 1997. Researching family since the 1970s and as of 2014, have over 104,000 family ties. Two Mayflower Pilgrim ancestors - Richard Warren and Francis Eaton among that number.

Started taking photos of tombstones for Find-A-Grave as a Thanksgiving 2008 project that turned out to be more involved than first envisioned! Started with 120 names, but quickly grew to more than 2,500 in just one cemetery!

Have had a love affair with cats all my life. This is Simba, which means Lion. As a kitten he looked just like Simba from Lion King, hence that is how he got his name. He was a diabetic, had pancretitis, developed kidney infections, was anemic, and he walked on his elbows on his hind legs. Comic relief to see him waddle! Went through a couple of wars with the neighborhood cats, both of which he lost, but he was a survivor anyway. Loveable and loved us to death.

He started the downward cycle while we were on vacation in July 2013. The vet was able to bring him around and kept him going until we got home in August. It is with great sadness to announce that on August 15, 2013 Simba was finally sent off to heaven to be with God and all the other worldly cats and kittens. Maybe he'll find some playmates? He was 18 years old and in human years that would be age 84!

The vet told us when he was much younger that he had feline aids because of the first cat bite he received and not to expect him to live very long - perhaps to age 9. That came to pass and he was fine until the next diagnosis, which was a tumor at the base of the head which was inoperable but it wasn't affecting his lifestyle at the time. Then six years ago the diagnosis of high blood pressure and diabetes. Still healthy and active until the last few years when the muscles in his hind legs broke down but he overcame that disability and continued to walk about as described -- more a waddle than a walk. Next diagnosis -- gluacoma in one of his eyes but it didn't affect his getting about and he never went blind. The last diagnosis was the pancratitis and then kidney infections. Everything wrong but he was a fighter till the end. We loved him very much and he will be sorely missed. The vet who became his doctor at the beginning of his life 18 years ago was there at the end. He said Simba was his favorite and we know his entire staff loved Simba when he was there for office visits or to be boarded while we traveled. He told us that the life expectancy for a cat with diabetes was about 3 years, so Simba lived 3 additional years (or 6 total)with the disease. Again, he was a fighter.

Lemuel Parker Fuson 70321100
Christie, I don't have a complete addition for you, in fact I need some help. I noticed you don't have Luther L Fuson as a son of Lemuel , and according to The History of the Fuson Family by Henry Harvey Fuson Luther was his son. I remember him when I was a little girl, he taught school in De Kalb Co and is buried in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. But he and his wife (Allie Pearl) are not in find a grave and since all of that generation are deceased, ( my grandfather A J Fuson was a brother to Lemuel and Luther would come to visit ) I don't know anyone to get the information from. My mother & her siblings are all gone too. I would love to have him listed in his parents memorial. Since you have been involved in this so long I thought you might have a suggestion. He seems to be the only one of the children to live to adulthood . I'm thinking he may have been born between 1889 & 1896. Could I hear from you please? My e mail is nellblaylock@aol.com

RE: Addie F. (Perry) Black
Hi Christie, I was not happy with the way the light was reflecting off the stone in the original photo, so my husband re-took the photo today. I loaded the new photo for Addie and for Hibbard. In the new photo, you should be able to see that Hibbard died in 1928. I added captions to the photos, but I'm not sure if you wanted me to do something else? I'm new to Find-a-Grave and not too sure of my way around the site.

While Hibbard and Addie Black's names are inscribed on the West facing side of the stone, the names George R. Perry and Jane M. Blodgett (Addie's parents, perhaps?) are inscribed on the East facing side of the stone. I will add a close-up of their inscriptions shortly.

Charles Seeley
Christie,
You requested a photo transfer to the memorial
of Charles Hollis Seeley #6814230.

If you could tell me what cemetery, it would be easier to locate it.

Thanks

Addie F. (Perry) Black
Hello Christie, I was at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Putney, Vermont today and can confirm the spelling of Addie Black's first name. It is definitely ‘ADDIE', according to the inscription on the stone. I hope that helps.

I agree that your date of Aug 5th is correct. The year 1860 is correct because the census was taken before his birthday, so he had not yet turned 25 in the year 1875. Thank you for the additional information--I will incorporate it into the memorial.

Joy monument
Both of my photos show two sides--I took only two photos which showed all four sides. On the first two sides are Lewis, his wife Julia, and James Shelley. On the other sides of this monument are Henry, Sarah M., Emma, and Julia H.
