I live in North Mississippi, but grew up and went to school in Memphis. I'm currently doing research on 3 family trees.....my mother's side, The Bookers and my father's side, The Lees, and my late husband's, The Johnson's. It's very interesting. The cemeteries can give us much important information. All of my Mother's family is from down in Tippah County, MS. Mostly Ripley and Oxford. In my research I found that William Faulkner is a 1st cousin 1x removed. My Daddy's family is The Lee's...the Virginia Lees. Found that Gen. Robt.E.Lee is my 3rd cousin 4x removed. Also Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lighfoot Lee, brothers, who both signed the Declaration of Independence are also my cousins. As is their father Thomas Lee, who was the first Govenor of Virginia.|
I'm a ballroom dancer and I love music, art and the computer.
You have my permission to use any photographs that I've taken for your ancestors. I thought that was what we do this for....for YOU!

It is very hard to tell but could be Mrs. Abner Williard. I am sure of the Mrs. and Williard. I had taken pictures of most of the stones they same year you did and have not posted all of them yet. I also took a picture of this one and it is hard to tell but very likely Abner and not Anner. Thanks, Kathy

Actually, Hiram H.C. Floyd (1844-1922) is the son of John Floyd (abt 1806, aft 1870 Tishomingo Co) & his wife Margaret Richardson Mayo. Find a Grave Memorial #39168440.
Hiram H.C. Floyd is brother to John McDanley Floyd (1832-1913), Find A Grave Memorial # 39168457. John McDanley Floyd m. #1 Nancy Milford & had Richard b. 1864. John McDanley Floyd m. #2 Mary A. (mnu, not proven) & they had 5 children.
As to Mary Ellen Floyd who m. Minor Walter Pannell, Sr, I don't have her father on my tree. This Minor, I think m. Mary Ellen & had 2 boys, 2 girls. He m. Elinor Beasley who d. abt 1893; they had 3 known children.
Reuben Floyd (1768-1824) did have daughter Mary Floyd, abt 1817, d. before 1900 in Arkansas. Mary Floyd married Nicholas Roberts (1815-1860). Nicholas Roberts died Feb. 1860 in Talladega Co Alabama. On the 14 July 1860 fed census in Talladega Co, his widow Mary Floyd Roberts and children are still residing in Talladega County when the 1860 census is taken 14 July; Mary at Court Hill post office; next door: son Jesse & family; son Nicholas & family; son Reuben & family at Bluff Springs. By 1870 fed census, Mary Floyd Roberts is in Miller, Bradley Co, Arkansas. I have the death certificate of their son Jesse Roberts (d. 1928), shows father Nick Roberts, b. SC, and mother Mary Floyd, b. SC. Nicholas Roberts was the GRANDSON Elder Nicholas Roberts who was born abt 1748 & died 01 Nov 1843 and was buried Beaver Creek Bapt Church in Fairfield District SC. Many researchers have Elder Nicholas Roberts m. to Reuben's daughter Cecily(Sisley) Floyd -- but on 04 Jun 1837, Reuben's daughter Cecily(sisley) Floyd married Bartlet Pannell - & they eventually settled in HOward Co Ark.
This has been extremely difficult to sort out, but I do have documentation, including a copy of the court file in SC.
Reuben Floyd (1768-1824) is my 4x gr-grandfather. I've never been able to prove wife Mary's maiden name -- either Roberts or Jordan. I have the court file where Mary m. #2 William Terry.

Hi Sue. You left flowers on Hiram H.C. Floyd & note that he's your 1st cousin, 3x removed. (Hiram's my gg-uncle.) Curious as to HOW you're related -- thru which child? Bonnie

While I was not able to provide you with a headstone picture as requested, I was able to locate a death certificate. I hope this helps in your search.
Memorial Park Cemetery where the burial is supposed to be is an extremely large cemetery (41,000+ interments). Staff at the cemetery will only provide grave locations to family members. Please contact the office to obtain plot information and add it to the memorial page and/or your photo request, so the volunteer photographer can find the grave marker for you. The office can be reached at 901-767-8930 or 888-943-7275. Ask for Paul Campbell. Once you obtain this information, please resubmit your photo request.

Samuel Farrar, b. 1917, d. 1994, Forrest Cemetery. I have looked for months for a marker in this huge cemetery and today I checked with the cemetery office. They have no record of his burial in Forrest - they even checked through the entire 1994 burial ledger and computer records. Do you have documentation that Samuel was interred there? Sorry, we can't be of assistance! Nancy
