I first became interested in genealogy when my grandmother, Rubye Mae Steele Brooks began to research the family tree and told me about the interesting things she was finding. This was before the internet, so she was doing a lot of travelling and letter writing. I started gathering stories from my other grandparents and eventually started seriously researching. My brother, Randy, (RTB) told me about Find A Grave and it was a beautiful extension of my genealogy research. I have come across others with a lot more information than I have and am grateful for all the people out there who are willing to put info and pictures from all the graveyards and memorial gardens around the country. Thank you all. |
If you would like to take ownership of any memorial I have submitted, just let me know. I have added many memorials just based on the fact that I have relatives in the same cemetery. I am pleased when I am contacted by someone who knew of or cared for a person for whom I have established a memorial. I hope they all are found by someone who cares. I will transfer them gladly if I am not related.
I stole the following from Gennaphyr, but I wholeheartedly agree!
I grant anyone the right to use my photos for any purpose, without any conditions. As the copyright holder of my photos, I release them into the public domain.
However, if you don't see my name under the photo then that photo does not belong to me and you will need to contact that individual Find a Grave member for permission to use their photo.
You don't need to kiss my foot for a transfer. I love being able to transfer memorials I have created to family and friends (to me that is a Find A Grave success story)

Thomas is my 5 gr grandfather, and I was wondering if you were able to set up a memorial for him with cemetery records. My main reason for asking is that my 4 gr grandfather George Woods who was married to Elizabeth Sherwood, that there is no memorial for either wife, and I cant seem to locate them?

Thank you, Sherry. That would be nice. He is my first cousin, 3 times removed - I think.(!!) but I guess that's more closely related than you are.
Thanks again, Sherry.

Hi Sherry, if you do not receive my email re Ms. Lucille, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
Sherry: thank you for your reply. Years ago, you were one of the 1st memorial managers I encountered. You had added, photographed & cared for ancestors/our common family members at this cemetery. Your kindness and sharing attitude is appreciated and remembered!
