Hello, Kathy
Wondering how you are related to Hez Graham. He is my 2nd great-grandfather. Hope to hear from you or others who are related. I can provide additional info on my family if you'd like to have it.

RE: Gravestone Photo Permission
Kathy, you are welcome to use any obituaries, etc. from the Alford American Family Association in your Find A Grave memorials.

I don't know of any other Alfords buried at Hopewell, but if you find any, grab 'em!

I am sending you infant Ronald Alford's obituary via Edit.

Gravestone Photo Permission
I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Ronald D. Alford in Hopewell Cemetery (Memorial# 32909451).

I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of Indiana Obituaries, where his obituary is (or will be) included. You can see the current collection at

May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:

Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—
Permission granted by the photographer, Kathy Lindley

And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Best regards,
Pamela Alford Thompson (Find A Grave #47195155)

Elder Benjamin Fewell Carter
Hi Kathy,

Thank you for your response. I do not have any information about where he died. In the 1850 census he was living in Jackson Twp, Fayette County, IN. He died in 1858 and in the 1860 census, his widow and children were living in Orange Twp, Fayette County, IN. I'm working on my DAR application and he is the most elusive descendant! Where did you obtain your information and the inscription on the headstone? You mentioned an index from a library. Can you give me any contact information so that I can see if I can gather any further info?

Thank you for your help!

Hi Kathy,

I am researching my 3rd great grandfather Benjamin Fewell Carter. I found your posting of his burial information at Little Salt Creek Cemetery in Rushville, IN. I am trying to locate his actual burial records and am not having any luck. I see that you have recorded a lot of gravesite information from this cemetery and wondered if you would have any idea who I could contact (sexton, perhaps) to obtain this information. I have contacted the Richland Township Trustee and she said that there is no sexton for this cemetery and she does not know where these burial records would be. Any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

He was my mom's step grandpa. She and her brother and sister were more close to him than their real grandpa. He and Thelma lived along with her mother Dollie. They had no toilet in their house, so they had a bucket!

RE: Ralph Brown/ Hopewell Cemetery
Thanks I appreciate that, and deep down I knew most likely you didn't, but I could not resist asking.

Thanks again
