I am originally from Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan, but I presently live in Plain City, Utah. My husband's kin are from Shiawassee, Clinton, Hillsdale, and Genesee Counties in Michigan, and in Vermont. Other lines go back to Ontario, Dutchess County, New York, and Kent, England. |
My father's kin, (McClelland) go back to Wigtownshire, Scotland, and before that, County Londonderry, Ireland, Limerick,and Kerry. Also Newcastle, England, many of them coming into Ontario, Canada, before Michigan.
My mother is from Clydebank, Scotland, and her lines go back to Donegal, Ireland, and Linlithgow, Falkirk, Perth, and the Isle of Islay in Scotland.
I am very involved in Family History and enjoy photographing and contributing to Find a Grave. I have researched many of the people that I have uploaded, using the links to connect with with others on the Family Tree.
I LOVE to transfer memorials to others that are more closely related than I. Please don't hesitate to ask. And I am open to making corrections or additions. If you have a better photo than one that I show, I am VERY HAPPY to take mine down for yours, or if you want the memorial of your kin that I created to be deleted, I am very happy to accomodate in any way.

There are apparently two Thomas Bourneses in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oakland County, MI--your picture needs to go on the other one, The one who died in 1851 is apparently unmarked.
|Deborah||Finlay Ferguson 1826-1890|
Hi Barbara, I see you have a significant amount of information on Finlay Ferguson in his memorial (b. Jul 1, 1826 - d. Dec 9, 1890). I was wondering if you had more information on the family in general. I will look for the census results you mention.
I believe his sister to be Ann Ferguson Heuser my 3rd Greatgrandmother married to Peter Charles Heuser.
When Finlay married Mary Elizabeth Stoll in 1879 the witnesses appear to be Ann and Peter's son, Alexander Heuser and his fiancee Elizabeth Roscoe. That's why I believe Finlay to be Ann's brother.
There looks to be another Finlay Ferguson and brother Alexander in that cemetery as well but I don't think they're the ones I'm looking for.
I am having a hard time finding any records on Ann aside from her death record. Birth, marriage, when she came to canada, etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

|Carol ||RE: Joseph Stringer|
Thanks for catching that. I corrected it, but since he was moved do you think I should delete it? Charles Stringer 6/26/1830 - 4/02/1907 was my G G Grandfather. I jump on any Detroit Stringers I can find as a possible puzzle piece to my tree. Carol

Thanks for saying so, Barbara. This exercise has certainly filled in some gaps in my family tree.
I'm not even half way through the photos we took....so keep checking back.

|Nancy Wright||Joseph Torrens|
I am trying to find the source for the information you added to the listing of Joseph Torrens' gravestone (it says Abstracts of Probate Files). The information gives the location of his birth, and it is vital that I have the source for that information.
Joseph's grave is in Southfield Reformed Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan, and he died Feb 20, 1864.
Can you help me?
Barb: my findagrave email is the same - you may have had my private one before - I don't use that, except with family & church work...I'm really on this one more. Now that I am more busy with my sister's health problems - I forget to check the other one! Nice to hear from you..I wondered if you had been in England, Scotland or other places!

|James McDaid||Hugh and Bridget Hone|
I see you posted a picture of Hugh and Bridget Hone’s grave, I live in the house they once owned, I am researching the history as the house is nearly two hundred years old. I was wondering what your connection with the Hones would be.

You are most welcome....keep checking your listings in the Headcorn Cemetery - we took a lot of photos there. Cheers, Jan
