Bio Photo When I was researching my own family, I received a great deal of help from complete strangers who were willing to help me without asking anything in return. I felt the need to pay that forward. So it tickles me beyond words to discover my headstone photos as part of someone's family tree. How sad would it be if after all the photos are taken and posted and researched and documented that no one looked at them or cared that they were there. So to those of you who have found my photos and made use of them, thanks for caring and you're most welcome.

For the most part I am unrelated to most of the memorials I have posted. For those that I'm not, I find it sad to leave them as just names and dates and feel that its important to say at least a little something about their lives. And while I don't always cite my sources on each memorial, for Long Island special thanks goes to Carolee Nichols Diamond and David Roberts for their unending patience and wealth of information, the transcriptions of Elbert N. Carter and longislandgenealogy and Ancestry, (with a nod to the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, various volumes), Suffolk County Historical Newspapers, George Moraitis, Historian for the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson, Steve Gill from the Patchogue Cemeteries Restoration Committee, Dan Prunty, Ruland Funeral Home, and Marcy from Cedar Grove, who lets me raid her records without complaint.

If you find something that needs correcting, or if you have information you'd like added, please use the SAC and I'll be happy to make the changes. If its a close family member and you'd like to have it transferred into your care, please let me know. Again, most of them are unrelated to me and I would gladly have them find a home with family.

RE: God bless Fred
Thank you.
Almost contacted you this weekend to possibly meet. We had a Parks Family Reunion on Water Island (Fire Island) at the summer home of one of the descendants. The Parks had a first reunion at Cedar Point in 1913 to 1916.
A couple of people went to Cedar Grove Cemetery this morning to see their ancestors grave and I believe you live someplace nearby. As it was raining I decided to head home.

Edward Lord
Hi! I am doing research on Rev. Edward Lord who is buried at Patchogue, L.I. Do you still have the original photo of his tombstone and if so, would you be willing to send me a copy by e-mail? Rev. Lord will be one of the men I examine in my book on the 110th Regiment and I will be most happy to give you a photo credit for this picture. Many thanks. Natalie J. Woodall, PhD

Thank you so much for the additional information on Lorette Doxsee, That was great, it definitely answered my questions as to why she was buried with the Petty family. I don't remember seeing any other Doxsee's in that section though. However there are a lot of Doxsee's in that cemetery. Next week I will finally be able to get my computer fixed (I'm on my tablet right now) so once it's up and running I will try to locate her parents. I know I saw a william there, I checked the one that is already up here and I don't believe its her father. If her parents aren't there I was thinking they would be in either at st. Patrick or north babylon cemetery (since you mentioned she lived in babylon).
*check out ashbel Barto's headstone picture, she/he is located in my interesting headstone virtual cemetery. Tell me what you see.
talk to you soon :-)

Would you please transfer the above listed memorial? This lady was married to my second great grandfather. I was so pleased to see the information you have on this site. I have pictures I would like to add to the site.
