Bio Photo Many listings at F.A.G. were a great help in my search for Ancestor information. I am honored to be a part of the process and hope it will help others as much as it has helped me.
My goal is to see as much information added to each listing, in remberence of those who have gone before us, as possible.
NOTICE ! I have been human every day of my life. If you catch an error, typo - duplication - or otherwise, I will certainly appreciate a notification. The goal is accuracy.
I give permission for reuse of all photos I have submitted to any person for ancestry or grave application.

Nora Moore was my aunt. Her maiden name is Simmons. Would you connect her to her parents: David Frank Simmons # 96235258 and Margaret Belle Cundall Simmons # 96363619. Thanks,
Bunny Simmons

RE: Harry & Della Kline
Glad I could help out. The cemetery is large and the general areas are well kept. I pulled several weeds around their area until the ants sent hundreds more out to great me. :( They are in Section V in the middle, about 5 rows in from the road.

RE: Jacob C Houser
I heard back from the Genealogy Room of the Knox County Historical Museum. They said that they had also noticed the error on the gravestone, and that it's up to the family to contact Veterans Affairs and request a new stone. Interesting.

RE: Jacob C Houser
You asked about the residency of the Jacob Houser who was guardian of the young William Houser "minor of Jacob House, deceased" - He was in Knox Co., TN on May 2, 1871 when the papers were filed. Hillard is also listed as minor of Jacob House, deceased (by different mother).

RE: Jacob C Houser
There's something very wrong here - I hadn't looked at that gravestone photo - thank you for pointing it out. I have emailed this morning the Knox Co. Historical Society to see if they can explain it. The stone looks to be rather new, and if a Civil War veteran did indeed die in 1928, surely there would have been a write-up in the newspaper. It's hard to believe there would be 2 separate Jacob Housers in the exact same company & regiment. OUR Jacob Houser definitely died in 1862 Barbourville. Right now, I'm tending to believe the (recently laid) gravestone is in error, but perhaps I am wrong. Hopefully, we can learn the truth.

RE: Hillard E Houser
On July 14, 1868 a Jacob Houser, aged 65, applied for army pension on behalf of orphan children William & Hillard E. Houser (their father Jacob having died in service). I don't know if you're aware, but Jacob C. was married twice & had Wm. M. Houser b. 1858, as well as Hillard. So this Jacob Houser was born about 1803, looking awfully similar to the Jacob Houser born about 1804 in the November 8, 1850 census of 31st Subdiv. of Knox Co., TN where Jacob (born about 1804) and Elizabeth Houser have children Jacob & Thomas (I don't know about George). Also in an 1871 affidavit, Jacob Houser says he has had care & custody of William since the day of his father's death. Both Jacob Houser & Mordacai Morgan served as guardian for Hillard.
That's all I have to go on. What do you think?

George Sprouse Sr.
Thank you SO much for the photo from Bethlehem Cemetery of the George Sprouse Sr. headstone!!

Being 140 years old it's nearly impossible to read, of course, but I wondered if you made any notes about the dates on it. I only have estimates.

Regardless, I'm thrilled to have the photos. Hope to visit it myself, if I ever make it to Tennessee.
