You'll have to ask the guy who made the parent links where he got his information.

RE: Octavia Collins Hipshire
I'm sorry I took so long to answer your questions. Octavia is listed in the 1900 census as 6, 1910 census as 16 and the 1920 census as 28. It appears that the person who filled out her death certificate made an error. As for the "divorced" entry, I really don't know for sure. She and Alonzo were living in Knoxville on Jan 14, 1920. It appears that she and Alonzo split, and she moved back to Grainger County where she died a few months later. I've checked the divorce records for Knox, Claiborne and Grainger counties, and could not find any evidence of a divorce. My mother-in-law, Irene Hipshire Bullen evidently stayed in Knoxville with her dad. We searched for several years for Octavia's grave, and finaly found a person who knew which cemetery in which she was buried. The exact grave was never marked. I had a marker made, and installed it in the cemetery about 5 yrs. ago. I hope this clears up some of the puzzle.

RE: William Raney
You are welcome, and it was no trouble at all.

RE: William Raney
At this cemetery there are no tombstones. It is military only and so all have the same bronze headstone, with the exception of the marble cremation columbarium section. By the looks of the new headstone that AL just posted for Mr Raney, nothing has been added, but I'll search for his wife Beverlie.

Considering that your request came on the day before Memorial Day I thought you might like to see Mr Raney's marker as decorated for the holiday.I have added it to the site.

RE: Abigail Butler
If you want something added to the grave page, you can ask the person who made the page. I only added the photo.
