Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been into Genealogy about 9 years. Came across this site in one of my searches and a volunteer sent me a requested picture. I so appreciated it that I decided to volunteer also. I live in Kingsburg CA,(setteled by Swedes), that is the reason for the Dala Horse.

RE: Joseph Pippin
I can't remember if I replied to this or not, but here goes. The lineage of Joseph Pippin, (no Howell in his name) is documented in two books. The first was PIPPIN PATHWAYS, by James R. Pippin, Emily Person Pippin, and Wilda Allen Luttrell. The second is JOHN PIPPEN, A NEW BEGINNING IN MARYLAND, by James R. Pippin and Emily Person Pippin. The descendancy is well documented and it does, in fact reflect the parentage of Henry Pippin as being Joseph (no Howell) Pippin. My email address is listed at Find A Grave.

RE: Joseph Pippin
I can give you verse and chapter from one of the books I have, which was written by 3 people who between them, spent a total of 100 years on this research. I just have to find it again in the book. I'll get back to you on that.

Joseph Howell Pippin
You have Joseph Howell Pippin listed as one of the sons of Solomon Pippin. Once upon a time, in the south lived a man by the name of Joseph Pippin. He had a son by the name of Howell Pippin. At another time, there was a legal transaction between 3 or 4 people, two of which were Joseph and Howell Pippin. The first names were not Pippin so they wrote out the full name. When they got to Joseph and Howell, they wrote, "Joseph Howell Pippin." There was an 'and' missing. That is how the name Joseph Howell Pippin was picked up by Ancestry.com and is now used as a name, when in fact Joseph Howell Pippin never existed.

RE: Request
I had a few memorials in Selma that I wanted to ask if you'd do for me but I just went ahead and did it the regular photo request way so as not to be a pain, lol. I don't like doing it that way - its so impersonal! If you would like to do them, they are posted. Thanks!

NANCY STOVER, DAUGHTER OF ALICE DEAN MOBBERLY AND J. EZBON STOVER.
DEAR BETTY:

SORRY, BUT I DON'T BELIEVE I GOT YOUR MESSAGE ABOUT THE RIPPETOE FAMILY. I LOST A LOT OF MESSAGES DUE TO A COMPUTER GLITCH. PLEASE RESEND THE INFORMATION AND I TILL TRY TO ADDRESS YOUR QUESTION. THE ONLY THING I HAVE ON NANCY STOVER IS SHE IS OUR 3RD COUSIN. ALICE DEAN DIED AT BELLA VISTA ON NOV. 28, 1990. JOSEPHINE DIED OCT. , 12, 1977. I AM NOT SURE IF SHE WAS LIVING WITH ALICE AT THAT TIME. FROM HER MANUSCRIPT, I KNOW THAT HAD MOVED BACK FROM NEW YORK TO ARKANSAS. FROM INFORMATION ON ANCESTRY.COM, THE MCCONNELL AND JONES FAMILIES HAVE COPIED BY INFORMATION ABOUT JOSEPHINE. NANCY MAY RELATED TO ONE OF THOSE FAMILIES, BUT NOT SURE!!??

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.

BEST REGARDS,

CHARLES RAUCH, TULSA OK.

Gen. Robert Lawson (1748-1805)
I saw your memorial for Gen. Robert Lawson. Are you a descendant of his?

He is not buried in Arlington National Cemetery - it was not even established until 1864 during the Civil War. He is buried in Richmond, Virginia. I have further information if you want to contact me.
