Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Fayette County Il. area and weather permitting can take cemetery photos at request. If you are a family member or researcher you may use them for your trees. In turn please pay it forward by doing the same kindness for another if you can.
Sharing just a small story, working down at the tail of Fayette co. and I saw my first red fox, what a blessing after it finally saw me and ran toward the woods it turned to look at me and pose for a photo.

I think it is wonderful that Find a Grave and Ancestry have teamed up and these links connect with searches. Cemetery records are a great source that we put on the memorials that cannot be found on Ancestry. I get joy out of finding members of families that don't have any records. I do this from the heart and please feel free to use my stone photos for your trees.

John Cook
Hi Anna, I am researching the family of Chester Townsend Cook and I came across your entry of John Cook who could be my G.G.father's brother. I found John and my G.G.father on the 1850 census living in district #68-Clinton County, which I have found that the township of "Breese Clinton County" was known as district #68 which is close to Fayette County. Chester traveled to Australia in 1858. Have you ever found a grave for John's mother Mary in the same cemetery??. I live in Sydney Australia.
My email is cookles at rocketmail dot com if you care to reply.

Hi Anna,

I want to say thank you for your time going out to the cemetery and taking the pictures of my great great great great aunt and uncle's tombstone, along with rest of the Scott's family. My father's maternal grandmother maiden name was Scott. All of the pictures are excellent, thanks again for doing this! Also, happy new year.

I would possibly be related to Eliza who is my 3rd great grandmother. I am having a difficult time confirming her information though, as I was told she was part American Indian, that she married Isaac Newton Smith and that her daughter Lou Ellar Smith is my 2 great grandmother. I also found on a birth certificate of her sons, that her name was also Liza Sides. I found that Sitz, Sides and Seitz was used interchangeably. The name Eliza can be used interchangeably as Eliza, Liza, Lisa and Elizabeth too. But what is interesting is that I keep on finding that Sarah or Sallie Ellis is her mother. I am just trying to pin point names and dates of births. Do you have any additional information?

Do by chance have any information on her being native American in any way and whether she had a sister by the name of either Eliza, Lisa, Liza or Elizabeth Church?

RE: Bessie Davis Koonce
Thank you for all your help, I never knew my grandfather, just found his grave..I knew that Bessie Davis was sort of an "old maid" have followed her in the Alton, IL directories, and that she had worked all her life at Western Cartridge. When I found info on my grandfathers death, there was an obit mentioning his sister Bessie Koonce of Mulberry Grove, IL. I was excited about finding her and her married name. All this time I had been searching for the Davis name. I guess my mystery will be how did the two ever meet? One of those things in genealogy that will be hard to find out..I am just thrilled that I have finally found her and that you supplied a picture of her grave which gave me a picture into her life..That would be nice if you could find and obituary...again, thanks.

On a side note, my husbands mothers name was Anna and her mothers maiden name was Schultz..and my grandfter's obit mentioned a daughter Mrs Dorothy Schultze of Edwardsville, IL.
