"Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree."
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
[NOTE: A DIRECT relative in NOT your cousin, uncle or aunt, niece or nephew, etc.]
"The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it."
I have hundreds of relatives that I have found here on Find A Grave but I do not have "ownership" of their memorial pages. Find A Grave has created a wonderful tool, the "Virtual Cemetery", to help us to keep track of these relatives that have been added by our good volunteers. I have created Virtual Cemeteries for all branches of my family and find this to be a very efficient way to keep track of my family. Please use this tool instead of asking for transfers that fall outside the bounds of Find A Grave policy.

|Sherry W||John M Cherry aka John Wallace Cherrt|
hi. I am researching John M Cherry who died after 1930 But before 1938. All of the Census and city directory records list him as John M Cherry married to Lillie May McClanahan. I noticed you posted a tombstone for John W Cherry and mention an obit saying his name is John Wallace Cherry. Do you have a copy of this? I am just confused by the M vs. W or Wallace middle name and want to be sure this it the correct John Cherry for my family. Here is the memorial info I saw online

|Sandra Black Duffy||Dennis Ewell's family|
Hi JoAnn - I've been trying to sort out the descendents of Dennis Ewell of Princess Anne County. You have noted that a lot of his children are with his wife Elizabeth Keeling; however she was born about 1806 and the children were born as late as 1880. I think that he was married to Delia (Milly) Creamer in the 1870 census and somebody else by 1880. Do you have any other information?
|Mary Trumbull||Dewey Dwight Payne|
I noticed that you included an obituary for Dewey's mother. I am working on a Memory Book for 1964 graduates of Fluvanna County High School and would like an obituary to put on Dewey's page. Any assistance will be appreciated.

JoAnn I believe we are cousins, how can I get in touch with you? My gr gr grandfather is also Daniel McDannell from the family line of Joseph.
|Connie Taylor||James Mills #18953236|
Hi! I am researching my family tree and the Mills are part of it. I wanted to let you know of some conflicting information that appears on this memorial. James Mills (Sr. as you have it) had a different middle name than his son James. It's either L. or S. according to records. Also, according to the 1850 census, he was born in about 1829 (not 1819). His parents were Southy Mills (1794-1860) and Susan Whitehurst (1805-1870) which makes a little more sense with his birthdate. Southy Mills (1844-) was his brother and he is the one that was married to Elizabeth Pallet (1850-1900). Thanks for the photo of the grave!

Hi, you have done a wonderful job on the Brock Cemetery in VaBeach. I live near there and have made a study of these folks. You may not know it but in my research, I found that Fannie Horton was Eliza's mother. She had remarried after the death of Spratley.
Please transfer memorial #19250853 to me. Nannie Murden is my great grandmother. Thank you
|Major L. "Trip" Swindell III||Archie Mercer|
Hey, JoAnn ...
I submitted an edit request for Archie Mercer a few minutes ago asking for deletion of his duplicate memorial. You can ignore that request. When I did a surname search for Nimmo Cemetery, I noticed that all memorials are duplicated, and I also noticed that the original creator of the memorials is refusing to edit them (hence the more thorough duplicates).
Thanks for creating better memorials ... Your photos are better, too.
|Dawn Curl||Ferrell info|
I would so appreciate knowing how you found the family info on James Thomas Ferrell that is included on his page. Particularly the info on his parents William and Nancy A. I have been trying to discover if James might have been the brother of my great, great grandfather William R. Ferrell. His parents were William and Abigail. I'm wondering if William and Nancy A. were William and Nancy. William R. did have a brother Thomas, so I am wondering if James Thomas is that Thomas.
Are any of these Ferrells your family? I'd love to hear from you if so, and if you have an answer to the above question.
All the best,
