I spend a lot of time doing genealogy and/or gardening. Love being with my family as much as possible. I have three wonderful girls, seven super grandchildren & nine beautiful great grand children. And of course, my loving husband.
Many thanks to everyone who has taken pictures of my familys gravesites. And for the flowers and notes left. They are greatly appreciated.
Note: Please ask me prior to copying my family photos to any other site. It's usually okay with me, but I like to know where they will appear. Thank you!
RE: Great Great Great Grandparents Ruth, I found this link to a book that might be the right Valentine Martin. Take a look and see what you think. :) https://books.google.com/books?id=hY5bAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA436&lpg=PA436&dq=Valentine+Martin+born+1750&source=bl&ots=zecfF4b1TL&sig=egXBbYm5muUzGpTUwcqSVqCPxX0&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjDwYClpsbLAhWHVyYKHRlYAcsQ6AEILDAD#v=onepage&q=Valentine%20Martin%20born%201750&f=false
RE: Great Great Great Grandparents Yes, Theodosia Ruth Martin is my great grandmother. My mom and her siblings have very fond memories of her. Have you traced the Martins back to when they immigrated to the USA? Thanks again.
Great Great Great Grandparents I'm so excited to have finally found my 3x great grandparents! Thank you so much for posting this information. I still have to put some pieces together. It looks like while they moved to Oklahoma, my 2x great grandfather moved to CA. In the 1900 census, Daniel is living with his son Joseph in CA. After his death, Daniel must have been taken back to Oklahoma and buried next to Nancy. If anyone, can confirm this, please let me know.
RE: Tennessee I hope that one of us can solve the mystery of her name. I guess that would have to be a birth record or maybe a marriage document, eh? So we will leave her as is until further notice! Thanks for the contact and communication.
RE: Tennessee Hi Ruth- I appreciate you being careful when it comes to someone editing a memorial. My source of information is on ancestry.com. Arene is listed as her first name, but it rarely shows up in any census records or her death certificate because she went by "Tennie". She is my first cousin 4x removed. Anyway, I appreciate your concerns.
Jonathan Heacock Hi Ruth, Thank you so much for finding the cemetery where my ancestor is buried. Too many "great"s for me to calculate. ;-) Since I'm in Vermont, I haven't been able to do much searching for gravesites for my Heacock ancestors. I wish you a very happy new year. Susan Alexander
