Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am slowly working on photographing Ascension Cemetery because it is closest to my home. I am not related to most of those buried there. I consider it my contribution to the find-a-grave website as a return favor for those who have photographed entire cemeteries far away, greatly helping my own personal family research.

I've been side-tracked lately with photographing Loma Vista in Fullerton. Done with photographing the Northeast, Cypress, East and Grandview Lawns in the older part of the cemetery. Currently working on the Rose Lawn. Mostly what I consider "mass production" by sweeping the stones, taking a picture and posting memorials just to get the names out there.

William Espolt
Dear Lesa
I stand corrected from my last message to you. The Park Service and Rose Hills do not have a William Espolt listed in their data base. Only Louise is listed and I only found her resting place with no headstone. Sorry for the misinformation in my last message. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know.
take care

Dear Lesa
Today I was able to go to Rose Hills and photograph the headstones for William and Louise Espolt. With the assistance of the Park Service agent we did not locate headstones for them and the Rose Hills data base indicates they do not have headstones. I am so sorry. I was able to take a picture with flowers of their final resting place.
Take Care

Peter Montpas # 92074736
Hi Lesa,
In review my records on the Montpas family I have not been able to locate a Peter or Pierre Montpas son of John (Jean) Montpas and Hermine Plaisance born on June 05, 1877 Lotbiniere, Quebec, Canada.

However, I do have a Joseph Alcide Montpas born on May 05, 1877 in Deschaillons, Quebec, Canada with these parents. Is it possible that they called him Peter?

I checked the records from Canada and was unable to locate a Peter or Pierre Montpas listed to these parents.

However, I do have a copy of the Baptismal Record from Canada for Joseph Alcide Montpas listing his parents as John (Jean)Montpas and Hermine Plaisance born on May 05 and baptized on May 06, 1877. I also have the marriage record to Emelina (also known as Minnie)Rinquette dated July 02, 1901 with John (Jean) Montpas and Hermine Plaisance listed as his parents.

My Joseph Alicde Montpas also died in 1902 and had one son named Leon A. Montpas. His wife remarried to David Lafreniere and they had four children.

If you would like copies of the info that I have just let me know and also let me know what you think.

RE: Ada Thompson
Thank you Lesa - She is buried in Montana as a Bitle. Sounds like an interesting story here -

She is my half great aunt. Charles was her second husband. She was married to George Wilson before marrying Charles. She and Charles had a daughter, Mildred, that I am trying to track down as well. Thank you for all the work you do!

Julia "LaChasse" Kuffer
You have the grave for Julia Kuffer, she is a cousin of mine. My question is there any other info on her family (children/husband) at the cemetery. Her first husband was Charles Kuffer (1839 Switzerland) and their 4 children (Charles, Sophia, George and John) were all born in St. Louis, MO. We had an obit in the St. Louis newspaper with the last name of DeMierrke (2nd marriage?), maiden name of LaChasse. Any info would be appreciated.

Miranda C Heard Miller updates

Thank you for your parent relationship links for my memorial for Miranda C. Heard Miller at Antioch cemetery. Beyond finding that I had her DOB as 1848 instead of 1838, it took some searching on Ancestry for census reports that applied to her maiden family, but it appears that her maiden name was indeed "Heard" instead of the phonetic-variation "Hurd" that other researchers had used. That being the case, I will accept your relationship links "as is". I've added in some notes on her memorial that you may wish to review.

Iowa didn't have birth or death records until 1880, so sometimes the maiden names can be found with variations due to what sources are found. In this case it is possible that her first name was actually Miranda, which I've also noted in her bio section.

I'm sorry but Ada's marker appears to be unmarked.

I added a photo to her memorial
