Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Kathy, I am the mother of three wonderful sons, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons. I discovered this wonderful site several years ago. I have enjoyed helping others as they search for their loved ones. I will be happy to take photos of graves in and around Lampasas County, Texas. I am retired and would love to be able to return some of the many favors I've received while doing my research. I am researching the Golden (Goldin), Williams, and Morgan lines from Alabama to Louisiana. I am also researching the Scallan and Ducote families of Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.

At present, I am making a point to visit, take pictures, and record each and every grave in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, TX. This is a personal thing to me and my way of saying I care for those who have gone before us. I have not a single family member in Oak Hill and am happy to transfer memorials to those of you who are family members.
Please feel free to use any photograph I have taken for your own personal family tree use.

Hi Kathy...My name is Barbara (Chase) Fratto. I am the daughter of Ronald R. Chase who is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. I would like to add my fathers obit to his page on Find a Grave. I have included it below.
Thank You!!

Ronald R. Chase, 87, formerly of Rosenberg-Richmond, went home to his Maker on Jan 1, 2015, in Dallas, TX.

Ron was born Mar 8, 1927, in San Benito, TX to John S. Chase and Evalyn Pfeiffer. He grew up in Los Fresnos, TX. In the fall of 1944, Ron began attending Texas A&M in College Station, TX. In 1945, he enlisted into the US Navy & served as a 3rd class Petty Officer during World War II. After the war, Ron met and then married his lifelong sweetheart, Nancy Walker, on June 27, 1948, in Los Fresnos, TX. He returned to Texas A & M, graduating in June 1950, with a degree in Entomology, & remained a staunchly loyal & enthusiastic Aggie.

In 1955, Ron and Nancy moved to Rosenberg where they lived the next 40 years. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg for many, many years.

In 1963, Ron helped found & became President and CEO of Crescent Chemicals, Inc. in Rosenberg, TX, until he retired in 1984. Mr. Chase worked throughout his career in the agricultural chemical business.

Mr. Chase was a humble servant to his family, friends & business associates. He was widely regarded as a kind, generous and friendly man with a good sense of humor & a great handshake. Ron made friends wherever he went & never met a stranger. He loved to travel & enjoyed hunting as well as other outdoor activities. Ron was a Scottish Rite Mason & member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy Chase, his son William R. Chase, formerly of Rosenberg, TX, and his brother Gene Chase. Mr. Chase is survived by his 3 loving daughters Carolyn Chase and husband Bob, of Austin TX; Barbara Fratto and husband John, of Lewisville TX; and Linda Nichols and husband Rob, of Dallas TX; grandchildren Clint, Dane, and Brent Chase, Christina Fratto and Stephanie Conklin; and 4 great grandchildren.

The family extends a special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Brookdale at Lake Highlands Assisted Living Facility, Dallas, TX, & to all other care providers for their tender, loving care of Mr. Chase.

A Memorial Service celebrating Mr. Chase's life will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, Jan 16, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg. Burial will be in a private ceremony in Lampasas, TX, on Saturday Jan 17, 2015.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 - 7 PM Thursday, Jan 15, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 4th Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471. In lieu of flowers & for those wishing, memorials may be made in Ron's name to the Texas A&M University 12th Man Foundation, PO Box 2800, College Station, TX 77841, or to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Attn: Development, 2222 Welborn St, Dallas, TX 75219.

Elijah Stanley
My mom and I went to the Elijah Family Cemetery today to try and find Nathan, Mary, Bythan, and Esther Stanley but the only two stones that could be found were for Gideon and Eli Stanley. The area was extremely overgrown. There was also a field right beside the area, I don't know if maybe the cemetery used to be larger and has been partly destroyed. Sorry we couldn't get these for you!

Rock Church Cemetery
My grandfather is buried in this cemetery but does not have a headstone. I am passing thru there Monday afternoon or Tuesday Morning. I am trying to get a hold of the caretaker to see if there is a list that could tell me lot, row, site - something as I would like to order a headstone for him. I spoke with the funeral home and they do not have records that go back that far, but gave me Bobby Brooks phone number as the caretaker. I have called and called that number and get the answering machine. Have you got any ideas? I got his death certificate from Texas and added him to find a grave and all the info, but would really love to get a headstone and photo for our family records. Any help you could give is appreciated. My email address is : countryrhodesllc@yahoo.com. (all letters in email address). Please put "Charley Smith" in subject line. Thanks, Tammy
