Very interesting. Sounds like our two families both arrived in MD around the same time. Well since your Posey connection appears to be more distant, I would graciously accept the transfer of my great grandparents. All the best!

RE: Margaret & Washington Posey
Hi Dennis,
I have not yet come across a connection with the Mattingly surname so I would naturally love to know how the Posey's and Mattingly's are related. I have been researching my ancestors for a couple years now and it is always fascinating to learn more. I am a direct descendant of Washington and Margaret, going all the way back to Francis Posey who arrived in 1637, through my mother's side of the family. Thanks for your consideration and please let me know if I can provide any additional info or be of any help in any way.

Just thought I'd bounce this off you, for no particular reason. Haven't communicated in a while and hope you're doing well.

The Social Security sure messed up her name. Her headstone shows Mary Laura and I wonder if this was a nickname. Her maiden name appears to be Downs.

John Meintzer
I see you created a Find-A-Grave for John Meintzer buried at St Joseph's in Cordova Maryland. Do you have any info on him such as an obit? He is my Great Grandfather.

Any Help Would be greatly appreciated.

Jessie A. Smith
Hi, I was at Glenwood today to respond to your request for a photo of this grave. According to cemetery records, she is buried in Section D, Lot 213. I went to that lot and discovered that her grave is not marked. I do have a picture that shows the grave of Clifford U. Smith (d. 1924). His grave is in site 1, and Jessie's is in site 3, two graves to the right of his. I could post that picture which does show Jessie's burial place even if there is no stone. Or if you prefer to just note that the grave is unmarked without a photo that would be fine. Let me know which you prefer, thanks.

I just wanted to let you know that I am pretty sure that Nicholas Young (Mt Olivet Cemetery) is actually the father of George W. Young. The headstone says he was 63 when he died so he can't be the child of George and Henreitta.
