You are very welcome. I have photos of several other Jackon family members tombstones as well. I will get them all posted as soon as I have time and can match the photo's with memorials. The cemetery is very neglected and overgrown with trees. Several of the tombstones have been damaged, most by falling trees. Some have aged to the point that they are no longer legible. We rent the farm ground that is attached to the property and have for over 10 years and had no idea the cemetery was there. My husband stumbled across it while having some tile work done. It cannot be seen from any road, and is so overgrown cannot be seen from the field. Since I do my own family genealogy, I knew someone would love to get pictures.
|Margaret Jackson Currie||Benjamin Jackson, Rush Co.|
I am a great-granddaughter of Benjamin D. Jackson Sr., born 1825 ? and died April 1863 in Carroll County, IN. Ben was closely involved in the Davis Harris family (Wayne and Henry Counties, IN), James Bell of Howard Co., IN, David Truax, OH and Howard Co., Jacob Good, Henry and Carroll Counties. James and David were in Ohio before going to IN, the others were in North Carolina.
Ben's 1st wife was a Harriet and she died in Feb. 1850 after giving birth to the couple's 2nd daughter Harriet. Their first daughter was Jane born c. 1846 in IN and she married James Countryman. She died in Cass Co., IN in 1872. I have no idea what happened to Harriet Jr.
The picture you have with Benjamin Jackson who died in 1848 must not be him but a son of his. Please write to me at: email@example.com and I'll send you a picture of my Benjamin D. Jackson, Sr.s' 3 sons, one of which is my grandfather.

Hi Mary Ellen,
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I just looked online at the Dory Cemetery in Black Hawk but was unable to find John's name there either. (Black Hawk is right down the road from Central City so I though I'd give it a try since his obit states that his residence was in Black Hawk. Regards, Heather

I'm not related to the Tipton family, Thanks, Don
|jonathan.seedorff||RE: William Dempster|
His Full name is William John Dempster. Born January 22, 1869 and died August 5, 1949. He also lived in the Arlington, Iowa area his entire life. If it is him, I wouldn't know why he would be in What Cheer, since it's about 2 hours south of Arlington.
The William Dempster in the picture could be the same one in your picture, but it might also not be since Dempster is a common surname. Is there anything else you know about the picture? Where it was taken, or other people in the picture could help to determine whether it is the same Will.
Thank you again for taking photos of all the Pearson stones that I had requested!
