If you are volunteering to take a marker photo for me PLEASE take pictures of the full marker and close-up shots if it is an older, worn marker where the details are hard to read. I would also not mind having a plot photo. Also, please do NOT use chalk.
I have been taking photos of cemeteries and grave stones for over 20 years, starting back in the late '80s.
I've always enjoyed strolling through old cemetaries, taking in the history and admiring old headstones.
I mostly use Findagrave for genealogical research for various branches of my family tree including Streetman, Willis, Hendon, Price, Cook, Walling, Luce, Sims, Spence, Fulgham, Dean, Williams and Rogers, Alston, Alford, and more. After realizing how much this site has helped me I've decided to return the favor and help others.
If you would like to have the memorial of a family member transferred to you please do not hesitate to ask.
Please pass this memorial on to me. I am documenting the thirty five Black Cemeteries of Walker County ,Texas. Kimberly is the daughter of a schoolmate, who recently passed and I would like to reunite them. My findagrave # is 47064191. Thanks so much for your interest in this field. I am trying to document and save as much Black history as possible.I look forward to working with you in the future.
RE: Transfers Thank you, Tom. Infant Shaver and Wesley G. Shaver are my grandmother's brothers. If you want to transfer them to me, that would be fine with me. I'll leave that choice to you. Thank you for all the work you do.
As a child, some of my favorite people were "Red" and Lenora Streetman, as well as Willie and Belle Streich. They were life-long friends of my paternal grandparents, Tommie C. Helm (Memorial# 24929777) and Polly Ida Kolb Helm (Memorial# 24929776).
Could be an odd coincidence, as so often happens in the gene-chase, but I just had to ask!
