Bio and Links
Bio Photo My home is southwest Louisiana. As long as I am able, I will do my best to fulfill photo requests in my "neck of the woods". I grew up in Jefferson Davis Parish and now live in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, LA. There is no place I would rather live unless it is closer to my grandchildren!

In my family, I'm the "picture taker". I've taken photos of headstones and markers of family members for years. I'm fascinated by old headstones, the history they tell, and the occasional vintage photo found there. I'm not really good with recalling dates, so photos are an easy way for me to find them. Also, this site has contributed greatly to my family tree which I just began building recently.

I offered to be a volunteer photographer because I enjoy helping and encouraging others. Providing photos of markers is one small way I can do so.

As I walk through the cemeteries with my friend, who helps me locate the burial plots and crypts, I am constantly touched by thoughts of the large numbers of people who have gone before me, paving the way for my life to be all it is today. The most humbling part is that I only knew a few of these "givers" and most of them did not know me, but they made a difference in the world in which I live. This unexpected and deep sense of gratitude for the contributions that others make in our lives is a much bigger gift than I can ever fully comprehend or pay forward!

Warmly,
Chris (menonnie)

RE: Albert Cooper Eagles
Chris, happy to oblige. Albert's father was Charles Eagles (married to Eulalie Champlin) and lived from 1855-1901. Albert's brother Dell Eagles moved out to California in the early 1900s and ran a horse ranch (Eagles Ranch) that supplied work for the movie studios in Burbank. Albert Cooper Eagles' grandfather, William C Eagles (1816-1891), is as far back on that line that I've gone. William C Eagles and Charles are buried in Joplin, Missouri.

Albert's cousin, Jeanne Eagels, was quite a famous actress in the 1920's. She was nominated for an Academy Award in 1929 for her performance in "The Letter".

Would you be able to link Albert Cooper Eagles to his father, Charles Eagles #87899546, for me?

Thank you,

I appreciate your efforts, sometimes they just get lost in time, it is sad that they have been forgotten and not taken care of.

RE: St. Clair Headstone Photos
Thank you so very much for your kindness. It is not necessary to transfer these people to me as I've never managed a memorial. If there is ever anything I can do for you please let me know. Now I have to go look at the photos. Thanks again.
