21 Oct 2014 - I am extremely busy right now but my schedule should be clearing up in the next week or two and I will get caught up on all my Findagrave emails and requests. Thanks for your patience and understanding. |
I have had this happen only occasionally but it is kind of frustrating. If you have your messages disabled and your email address is not displayed - I can certainly understand the need for that.
But if you send me additional information, requests, suggestions etc about memorials I manage, please include an email address so that I can respond. I have received emails where the sender was simply incorrect, or they weren't necessarily incorrect, but there were reasons for what I showed etc. It would be nice to be able to respond to the message. It is only courteous to give the other person the chance to respond. They might have information that you don't. Please don't expect me to just do what you ask if you aren't going to give me that courtesy.
I have been researching my genealogy for over 25 years and am totally addicted. I also work on my husband's lines. I am new to the Greensboro area, but will try to help however I can. I recently moved from Texas to North Carolina. I had lived in Texas all my life until last year's move. While I miss Texas, I love North Carolina too.
I will not transfer memorials for people that I am related to. However, if you send me additional information etc that you would like added, I will be happy to do that.
If I am not related to the person, I will be happy to honor transfer requests to relatives of the person in question. I like for the memorials to be in a relative's care.
When I fulfill a photo request, I normally keep all originals of my photos, which I will share by email if requested. My photos may be used and reposted for personal use and not for profit. I do appreciate when people credit me as the source, just as a courtesy.
Due to continued frustration with Yahoo, I am changing my email address from Yahoo to Gmail. I will be keeping the Yahoo address so if anyone contacts me there I will still get the messages, and they won't give my email address to someone else.

Certainly I understand.
I am so happy to make contact with another relative. Our property surrounds the Roberts Cem. #2 (Guyton-Roberts Cemetery) on Old Navasota Road in Brenham. My husband and I have cleaned it out this winter so that relatives can get to the graves as it was terribly overgrown. If you get back to Texas, we would love to have you come and see it.
We -have been visited by two other Guyton-Roberts' decendants this Spring who did not know one another. One is a grandson of Abner Roberts and Julia Guyton Roberts, who has been out to see us several times, and the other one is a descendant from Abner Roberts' step-mother and natural father. She came from near Waco to see the cemetery.
There is some potential restoration planned for some of the broken stones. Please let me know if you would like to be a part of the process too. I hope to eventually place a historical plaque explaining the family's history in the graveyard.
Would you like to have the two other Guyton-Roberts' descendants contact in information?

|Headstone Hunter||Ferris Girls|
The Ferris Family runs on my greatgrandmother's side of the family (her name was Mae Eliza Ferris). I was reading somewhere that one of the Ferris girls (I believe it was one of Edmund Ferris's daughters or perhaps one of his granddaughter's but I can't be certain) married and went to Charlton, Saratoga, New York. I was wondering if you have any information as to her parentage, her spouse and whether she died in Charlton, Saratoga, New York. I am trying to track down her burial site and get a picture of the headstone. Thanks.

Just to let you know - I put a photo of the gravestone of Polly Ferris on the memorial page you maintain for her.

I am researching this family, as one of their graveyards is on our property in Brenham, TX. Would like custody of the memorial in order to link him to his parents and siblings.
1870 Census, Division 3 (prec. 3) Washington Co. , Brenham P.O., stamped pg 187. on the page with Abner Roberts and his wife, Abraham's sister Julia A. Guyton Roberts. Abraham doesn't own land, but is next door to Abner--Abraham may be working Abner's land.

I think you should continue to manage Mary Couch's memorial, as you are closer related to her than I am. I descend from her father's brother, William M. Couch.

Sarah Elizabeth Ackerman's burial page is http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=LEF&GSpartial=1&GSbyrel=all&GSst=36&GScntry=4&GSsr=401&GRid=74013343&
She married Samuel Lefevere.
I have Ferris in my background from Sarah's mother, Aletta. That family is very interesting.
On ancestry.com and find a grave, the children I have not researched elsewhere (mostly siblings of my direct ancestors) I always write that I have not confirmed them. Somebody else may have already. For me, it's time consuming enough to do my direct line, as I have gone back as far as 1300s on my some of them. Is there a better way to do that? Thanks so much for your message.
best regards, Nancy
