"I will show you fear in a handful of dust." T.S. Eliot|
We are not so much afraid of dying, as we are of no one remembering we existed at all.
We only walk this earth because of the people before us. Every name is a memory to a life, not just a branch in a tree. Sometimes all that echoes through time is a name, a date, a relationship, a headstone. But bringing those things together here is remembering the person who lived, and I am proud to be a part of this community of volunteers who spend their free time to send the message "you have not been forgotten"
Still active as of November 2014. If you have any information to add to any memorials I have created please let me know but use the EDIT- SUGGEST A CORRECTION feature. Please also use this feature when inquiring about a specific memorial, the comments section below is not helpful in directing me with a link to see what you are talking about.
PROCESSING EDITS: I know about the feature, but I don't blindly click all. Have patience, I will get to it, but I do check- I will also look for an obituary for you if its here in Oregon. So have patience, check back when you get the email, it might be worth a look.
DO YOU KNOW? Find A Grave will automatically process all untouched edits after 3 weeks. Yep. that contributor who's been ignoring your requests for years didn't just finally get with the program.
DO YOU KNOW? if you mess up a submission you can go to your own edits page, use the drop down menu to find edits you have submitted, find the edit you did and delete and redo if it hasn't been processed. Pretty Nifty if you ask me. Edits on Find A Grave are finally happening and they have fixed some of the flaws from the initial launch.
PHOTOS: I took the photo to help you! If you would like any of the photos I have taken for your own family tree, you are welcome to them. If its a family photo I added though, please contact me! I don't mind sharing, I have a public tree on ancestry.com that I will give you directions to for more photos (if I have them). Our ancestors should be remembered by all who want to preserve a piece of who they were. My collection is the work of many who believed in saving photos of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents they never knew and then taking the time to share them with me. As we pass through this world, I feel better knowing my ancestors wont disappear and pictures forgotten if multiple people from all over have the key.

Please see my other message. Plot location is needed. Thanks!
|Melody OC||Betty Bartholomew @ Cherokee Memorial, Lodi, CA|
Cherokee Memorial Park implemented a new policy for requesting PLOT LOCATIONS ... they will only give that information to FAMILY members. With roughly 34,787 interments at Cherokee it is very important to have plot location information. So, if you would please call Cherokee Memorial Park: 209 334-9613 and get the plot location for me, I will be very happy to get a photo of the headstone(s) for you.
Or, you may send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
I go to Cherokee every day for my walking exercise! Melody O'Connor

|Marlayne Boblett||Jefferson Manly Norman family|
Hi Erin. I have a handwritten pedigree chart written by a descendant of this family. On it is a William Brownly Norman, brother to Jefferson Manly. Also, Mellie (Melvina) had a twin: Ellie and was wondering if you knew about them or had information on them?
Thank you for taking the time to do this work and post it. It is a great deal of help in finding family.

Thank you for adding the picture. He is my cousin.
|Glenda Denniston||Irion Cemetery, Washington Courthouse OH|
Hi - My brother and I just visited this cemetery, as we had heard our GGG grandmother, Nancy Balentine Irion was buried there. We did find the hilltop cemetery. Grave inscriptions were in some cases totally illegible, but we scraped them with stiff brushes and washed them. We then could read them (some parts still illegible, and couldn't find some of the stones listed here).
We did take photos of the ones that could then be read - Nancy, the child Nancy, Amanda (listed as "Ma" in FindaGrave?). Could not find Ansley Irion. Would you like us to send the photos? Q If so, how do we do it?
Thanks for all the work you do for this site,

Good morning Erin, My only record for Elizabeth is the 1850 census with born Ohio but I notice that you have for Turkey Run Cemetery in Montgomery Co. Indiana that she was born in NJ. This could be the clue that I am missing for her and am wondering where the NJ birth was located. Thank you so much, Marilyn Thomas Hansen
