In the last few years, I have been creating memorials for my family, as I discover where they are buried. This is still an on going project.|
Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.
To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.
Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.
Recently (Aug 2011), I transcribed The Bay City IOOF Cemetery. I have created a spreadsheet of this Cemetery, taken photos of all of the headstones and put this information on FindaGrave. I have tried to research something about the person and link them with their family members.
I have completed photographing all of the headstones at the Fairview Pioneer Cemetery. I have also received from the Tillamook Pioneer Museum a listing of all of the graves that are in This Cemetery, along with a map. It is quite a small cemetery and it is quite overgrown, there are not many headstones left that are readable.
My next goal is to transcribe the cemetery at the Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens. Thank you to everyone who helps me out on this journey.

Thank you for the photo. Are you related to the Phillips family?

The scenario you present is highly likely. It happened to another memorial page of mine where the father died in 2011, but had a daughter who died in 1966. Cemetery records indicated she was buried with her father, but there was a memorial page for her in another state, which was the place of her death. So, there were two memorial pages for her and the contributor who contacted me was not as nice as you and told me the cemetery records had to be wrong and I was spreading misinformation. A photo request provided the evidence that there was a stone for her next to that of her father.

Thanks for your message regarding his burial in Missouri in 1929. As you may already know it is not unusual to remove remains and reinter them at a different location at a later date. Per the National Cemetery Administration this individual is buried in the Post Cemetery at the United States Military Academy.

They are my Aunt and Uncle. I would be very happy to manage them.

I found your memorial and am curious if you are related? I'm searching for my 3rd Great Grandfather, Shubal Starkweather who was born in 1779 in New London, CT according to his US Army enlistment info. I'm not finding much online and am curious if I can find a descendant. Thank you for your assistance!

Alice, are you able to call the cem. there (I see all the work you do!) Could would or can you call them for yourself to make sure she is not there? Also thinking only other way is to find the funeral home and contact for burial.....
