GOLDIE FINLEY, 89, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Hendrick Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Mathew St. John officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
Born November 16, 1923 in Jones County, Goldie was a daughter of the late Arlon and Alma Melissa (Spraberry) McIlwain. She graduated from Anson High School in 1942. Goldie married William Orville Finley July 18, 1942 in Stamford. He preceded her in death in 2000. Goldie was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister (Helen McIlwain).
Survivors include four sons, Dewain Finley (and wife, Linda) of Anson, Glen Finley (and wife, Ginni) of Andrews, Tommy Finley (and wife, Kathy) of Midland and Mickey Finley (and wife, Patty) of San Angelo; four brothers, Norval McIlwain (and wife, June) of Snyder, Melvin McIlwain (and wife, Lou) of Seminole, Billy McIlwain (and wife, Mary) of Hamlin and Charlie McIlwain (and wife, Rebecca) of Anson; a sister-in-law, Pat Finley of Monahans; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anson.
