I wrote you a long detailed Email, and tried to send it to the Yahoo address you show, but it won't go through. Please give me the corrected one so I can send it on. Thanks, LAC

Thanks, Don. I appreciate the transfer.
Sadly, I will be unable to link my own Copeland grandparents as the person who posted their tombstone information refuses to add my suggested data or transfer them to me. She is not related to them at all. So I can't even link my Mother to her grandparents or to the family chain.

The photo included is one of her daughter's, Mahala Jane Mitchell (Cates) 1845-1881, grave. In the photo, on the far left, is a rectangular stone (facing away, towards the house) which is actually hers. I have several good photos of it on her bio in my "Mom's Family Tree" on Ancestry.com. My husband and I spent a long time doing our best to clear/clean out what we could, in order to photograph them before they are completely ruined. LAC
|Nancy Still||John Calhoun Still--Memorial #102654105|
Hi Don, I tried to send e-mail, but wasn't able to make contact. So--I am Keith Still, originally from LaGrange, Georgia and am researching my Great Great Grandfather, John Calhoun Still (aka John William Still) dob-1832--1859. I am confused about the adding of the middle name, (Calhoun), to John Still's memorial page, which was indicated by Hank Rogers. Who is Hank Rogers and is he a member of the Still family??? And where did Hank Rogers get the name (Calhoun) ???
And,just a matter of other information, how did you come to write the biography of John Calhoun Still ?? Is there a grave site somewhere or did you get the information from research?? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have seen your name many, many times on memorials want to say that you have done an excellent job. Thanks for your work and all the information you have provided people like me, researching their ancestors..Thanks in advance for any information. My e-mail address is:
email@example.com I would appreciate if you would answer by my e-mail.

You may have duplicate memorials at New Harmony Presbyterian church cemetery. Seems Mrs M.E. and Mary Elizabeth Campbell are the same. The DOB/DOD match. Thanks

Can you locate the pictures of the slabs? I would like to compare them with what I have.
I used information from Dorothy McClendon who also visited the cem. with Mrs. Orr and others.
She described the location as 3/10 mile from Wehadkee Creek bridge. Problem is the bridge no longer exist in that location. I am told the bridge is currently at Callaway. The bridge would have been covered by Lake West Point. The State Line road through Evansville dead ends where the bridge would have crossed Wehadkee Creek but is now the lake. The other side of State Line Rd. goes through Creek access park.
The general information on Jesse Garrett on the internet is highly tainted. There were more than one Jesse Garrett in the area, some possible combination are father, son and slave with same name maybe more. Hence its possible there are more than one Jesse Garrett buried across the state line.
I would like a little more proof that this is indeed the Jesse Garrett born 1790.
I have the GPS location and would prefer to sent the information by private email. I will explain later.

I need some information about the Garrett Family Cemetery you have listed on Find A Grave.
I have discovered what I believe is the Garrett Family Cemetery described by Dorothy McClendon as the burial place of a Jesse and Elizabeth Garrett, and Ossie Lee Meadows.
