I have always been a history buff. While in the Air Force I became interested in photography. After I retired from the Air Force I became interested in Genealogy and found that my three interests go together very well. I've been doing Genealogy now for about twenty years. When digital cameras came out I found that I was taking a lot of pictures of grave stones and not taking near as many notes. I didn't know about Find A Grave until recently and I think it's a great idea. I wouldn't have been able to find as much material on my family without help from others, now it's my turn to help someone else and maybe myself.
Mary Batterson (68140522) I see that you have documented this grave. I am trying to locate her parents. Mary's maternal grandparents, Anna Mary and William Wheeler, are buried at this cemetery, but I don't know where her parents are located. Her mother was Pearl Wheeler and her father was Wm. M. Batterson. I believe they moved away from NE and then were divorced, but I thought maybe Pearl was buried by her daughter. If you live in the Plattsmouth area, can you check on this? Thanks much.
Find A Grave Memorial# 57664512 The memorial has an "headstone inscription with a miltary division" on the bio page. How can there be an headstone inscription with no headstone? Maybe the headstone was stolen...lot of that happening now ..sad to say.
Maude & Jasper Smock Thank you for the transfer of Maude & Jasper Smock Maude is my Great Uncle Ira's daughter. Or My 1st cousin twice removed Thanks again, I will get them connect to Maude's parents. Susie
RE: Evenson graves at Bird Island I photographed all markers that didn't have a photo in the cemetery per the city's records and was just letting you know a pic was up. No trouble - just saw your great memorial and info and thought I'd send a note. Enjoy
Claus Great job on finding him!!!! Some people on Ancestry tried to cross the families and there is no relationship between the two here or over the pond in present day Germany. Did you chalk his memorial when found. As always a wonderful job you did! Still hope we can touch base in Plattsmouth. Take care of yourself. Your friend of find a grave! MJA
James Block Thank you for finding my biological father's grave. I may never know him, but it does bring me comfort knowing that he must have turned his life around and became a good father to someone. Thank you for what you do.
