For years my Dad took care of assigning the graves at St Peter's cemetery in Gentilly MN. He loved doing the research on the older family names and he also did extensive measurements of the cemetery plots, trying to locate some of the original graves from back in the 1890's that are no longer marked. He gathered information on the very early burials by looking in the books at the Polk County courthouse and at the Crookston Diocese records office.|
I want to share all of this Gentilly cemetery information on Find A Grave for others to be able to see glimpses of their family history.
I am currently working on linking the Gentilly families together. This is a "hobby" that I enjoy doing. I go the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul and look up obits, death, & birth certificates to put the pieces together.
If you have any photos of your ancestors please add them to their memorial. I will gladly link your family together, post your obits, and add any other information or photos you may have.
You can contact me by clicking on the "Edit" tab at the top right of a memorial and then choose "Suggest any other correction or addition".

|Ellen Allmendinger||RE: Nora Chouinard|
If Nora is buried in Calvary with her husband and daughter you can call and see. Calvary's phone number is (509) 457-8462.
Hopefully that helps?

The only online source in town is for Tahoma Cemetery. They have records of their burials online. I checked there and Nora wasn't on it.
Calvary doesn't have one to my knowledge.
Per the Washington State Digital Archives I found her marriage cert to her husband. Sometimes it lists where they are buried but I couldn't find it.
Are you in Yakima?
From the information I have, Clement was married three times, first marriage was to a Ruth Moen in 1950 and two daughters were from this marriage. Mary Lynn Chouinard 4/7/1951 Ramsey county, Minnesota and Patricia Louise Chouinard 3/19/1953 in Polk county, Minnesota. He must have divorced Ruth and was with Leona Volker because two children were born of this union Deborah and Connie. Not sure if they married and divorced, I have not found any record yet of that other then birth records for the girls. Their relationship ended before 1966 when he married Barbara Berndt. I don't know if there was any children in this relationship but I also heard that they divorced too. If you look at Gladys's obit on her memorial page it says she is survived by 5 grandchildren.

I put the marriage date to Sarah Piecquet into the bio area. Sarah must not have a memeorial page yet.
|Rick Valentine||Octavie Benoit|
I recently added a page for Octavie Benoit at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane, Washington. #146514827. Don't know if she is related to you or not but the name 'Benoit' is unusual enough I thought I would mention her.

Nancy, I have tried to get some info from Tom for the last few years to get the cemetery up to date. The reason I have her listed in Calvary is because there is a grave marker by her parents which I have posted it.

lol oh how confusing genealogy can be.
The following is the obituary for Demerise.
It has Harold as being a brother. I am trying to find his grave also since he is not listed in the 1940 census so I think maybe he may have passed as an infant. I did find that he was born 24 June 1939 and parents listed as Alec and Lena/Lana. I will keep looking and will definitely let you know what I find.
