I am a Story County, Iowa genealogist as well as a family genealogist. As a member of the Nevada Community Historical Society, I undertook to research the family history of the people who established the properties owned by the historical society and the project expanded from there.

I have been doing genealogy since I was teenager and love the research opportunities and record keeping computerized genealogy affords.

Barker Family
Hi! I was curious as you are in Story County if you had any relation to the Barker family? You added my great-great grandfather Charles Barker (119739433) and many of his family members. Was just curious if you were a possibly long-distance cousin or just did research on the family? Thanks! -Kelly

RE: Photos for Mary Liveria Hildreth & mother
Hello,

Not sure how I managed to mix up the photos but I have corrected the images as you requested. I will try to add closeup photos of the marker to make it more obvious as to who is who.

Eganes cemetery do not exist anymore. Today it is streets and parks mostly, and there is a new cemetery, Eiganes, not so very far away. Though I have added the old gps position. You can read in norwegian the history: Link:

And eventually use a translator:

John B Warner Memorial# 112700213
According to John's birth records, he was born 5 November 1898 Zearing, Story, Iowa. Why do you have him born in Jasper County??

Dorian,

Correct date of death for William H. Mills is 3-7-1940.

I've started this as I add more of my relatives to this site--I know it's redundant--I LIKE redundancy & hope you do too!

I believe that on this memorial for Andreas N (Andrew) Larson you show a child of his being Lewis Larson 1885-1961. This is not correct. Lewis Larson's father was Andres Eneas (Andrew) Larsen born 24 June 1849 and died 5 May 1944. He is buried in the Nevada Memorial Cemetery but not this person. If you can find Andres Eneas Larsen's grave and a picture I would be very greatful.

Mariah Tarman
Just processed an edit that you gave me regarding Mariah and her maiden name, Hocking. Any chance you are connected to her or did you just happen to come across the info?

The reason I ask is because I am related to Tarmans and look forward to connecting with someone else that is connected. Some of my family moved west during the Pioneer movement.

Look forward to hearing from you.

George Mason
Thank you for the transfer of George Mason to me. He is my grand uncle. The Mason family lived in Iowa and came to the US from Norway in 1861. Te name was changed from Madsson Sandvig to Mason to simplify the matter.

I as see that you are an historian in Iowa. I am looking for information concerning the mysterious robbing snd death of my great uncle Olai Netland. It would have occurred in the late 1800's or early 1900's I think.

Thanks,
Ann Netland McLarty

William Newton Farrington
Dorian, I just submitted information for his death date. His funeral service was May 2, 1959. I have a copy of his obituary. I am looking for two graves in the same cemetery. One is for Thelma Farrington and the other is for Lowel Farrington. Both are children of William and Melvona. Lowel is possibly Charles Lowel Farrington. I was told he died in Feb 1910. Today I found a record that indicated there was a Chas. Lowel Farrington who died in March 1909. I don't know anything about Thelma other than her name. If you know anything more I would appreciate it. Thanks, anezlus
