Lots of information about our family was on the verge of being lost, so I began researching both my and my husband's extended families plus families from the small towns we both came from. |
Family connections expanded. I received much material for the Dare/Twitty/Baker family from Dare researcher M.Doris Provart Gower, who graciously agreed to my sharing with you. Darnell-Hollaway/ Holloway family got help from Evah Hollaway Lager Picard, Grace Norris Hollaway and Lee Ann Hollaway Bailleu.
The Zahn/Brand/Schneider Kukuck & Voigt family was assisted by Talisman Temple Barbosa, Mary Farley Cummins and David Peipho. The Steinberg/ Koerner family has research from cousins Don & Janet Dickason, Lois Steinberg Adams and Ruth Koerner McCabe.
The extended Martin/Snelling/Shupe family come from my interviews with family members and the research of Terry Harper of Albion, IL, a fellow family member.
The Witt/Hoffman/Franks family has material from Mary Ann Franks O'Neill, Eleanor Hensen Kerber and the website of John Franks.
The Gerken-Helmers (Meyer/Martens, Brandt) family is mostly mine with help of cousins Mary Ann Hill and Eunice Martens Blissard.
Other individuals added information for their extended family. Most of them are credited in their additions. St. John's Lutheran church of Anchor, IL has a public website which gave much data for my great-grandfather and those families who lived near my childhood home.
Now I can share what I've found with others and get even more accurate data. I have used the best information I have, but will gladly correct errors and add or subtract material or transfer memorials if requested by someone closer.
Happy family researching!!

I see what you're saying about Viola. More than likely, the headstone was purchased and erected after someone else died (perhaps the brother?, Looks like he passed in 1970) and was waiting for her turn. At any rate, it's my understanding from F.A.G. that the original memorial should remain and the duplicate should be deleted (after you request corrections be made on the original). Make sense?
|Cathy Combs||RE: Viola Seebach|
Hi Rosetta. Do you know how to copy and paste? If not, I can show you. Sending a correction is simple, as you know. In your instance, you would copy the bio content. (this information gets placed on the 'notepad' on your computer. you can't see it, but it's there). This is one by highlighting all the text in the bio, then holding the CTRL key and selecting the letter 'C' on your keyboard. Then you go to the memorial requiring the correction, and select the Edit tab. That moves you to the various edit selections screen. From there you select "Suggest any other correction or addition". Type in your request and paste in the bio information. Paste is done performed by holding the CTRL key and then hitting the letter "V" on your keyboard. easy peasy.

A lovely tribute to Viola, but I think this memorial is a duplicate, and should be deleted.
Can you forward this bio and date info to the creator of the original memorial, then delete yours?

|Lyle Clary||Emma Crow Laycock Powless|
Dear Rosetta, My wife is Patricia Lynn Lacox Clary. Her Great Grandfather was William R Laycock
and is buried at Thomas Hill with no stone. He died in 1899. We are
trying to locate his widow Emma who married a William Powless around 1900. Any information on the Powless-Laycock connection would be appreciated.

Eva's mother, Mary Ann (Wells) Davis is a 1st Cousin 4 Times Removed to me. Making Eva a 2nd Cousin 3 Times Removed to me. Since you created Eva's & Riley's memorials you should consider doing a Family Link on them Spouse to Spouse. Thank you for posting them for me to find. Now if I could just find her parents. Thank you.

I am talking about Gary Haddock.
|Maredia Haddock||RE: Luke Haddock famiiy|
For some reason unknown memorials are hard to find in a search. I suggest you place him in the same cemetery as his parents and state in the bio. that it is a memorial and there is no headstone.
Thank you kindly, Maredia

Thank you so very much. I continue to try to find graves for other ancestors - some success and some not. Such is life. Thank you for your time and effort to help me in the process. Best wishes.
