I have been happily married for over 40 years and we have one son, Greg. Greg and his wife Jennifer have three children and live in CA. We live in WA state and I was born in Olympia, WA. I am the family genealogist (so they tell me) and have tried to accumulate as well as file all the family pictures and documents that I can find. |
My maiden name was YATES and the family is traced back to the marriage of Miles Yates and Deborah Holmes in Roane County, TN in 1840. Other family names include: KELSAY, BREEDLOVE, PENTECOST, SMITH, MOLINE, NORDGREN, REGISTER, POINDEXTER, OSGATHARP/OSGATHORPE and CHANCE.
My husband Jim's WILKERSON family is traced back to DE to the early 1800's when his GG-Grf Joshua was born there in 1811. Joshua and his brother George migrated from DE to IN in the mid 1800's and from there to IA by the 1840's. Other family names include: DESPAIN, WHITMORE, TRUE, OTTO, BOYERT, BEAN, SKAGGS, RIPLEY and JORDAN.

Understandable but just thought it would be nice if people and could know his wife and mother of the childrens name. Some might be new to family research and would be good to give them a clue. Personally for myself I try to put as much info as possible for the family that finds at least one. I know I have been able to find a lot of info on Find A Grave now because of the info, bios and links. It has helped me at times when at a brick wall in finding maiden names especially of wifes and mothers. I search in Kansas and some other states where marriage records are pretty much non existent!
Am curious about your Yates side Martha Ritchie Holmes is the sister of my ggg-grandfather and in Clay co., Mo. married Catherine Yates the dau of Jesse Yates and Nancy Dodd or Dodds they both died before the 1850 census and is my brick wall. So I chased all the Yates children and Ritchie has been fun and interesting.

|Linda 'Rusty' Jenkins||RE: Re: David Oliver Holmes|
Since there is no way provided to merge memorials in Find-a-grave I just deleted the memorial I had made for David Oliver Holmes.
|Kathy Franks||RE: Kittie Breedlove|
Forgot in previous message to give my # 47925958
|Kathy Franks||Kittie Breedlove|
I was at Blue Mound researching something for contributor Jean today and am happy to say that the tree has been cut away from Kittie's stone. You may know this but she shares a stone with Cerilda and Sallie. Anyway, I noticed note that it was a duplicate of Ida Kittie Breedlove memorial. If you would want to transfer this back to me I will delete it. Whatever you chose to do, not really a need for the duplicate, and I had never noticed the other memorial created by Jean.
