Bio and Links
I am a retired 77 year old systems analyst. 23 years ago I undertook a family history project to identify the descendants of my paternal 3rd great-grandparents, James McMonigle & Osse Jacobs through five children. I have also been identifying the descendants of my paternal grandmother's family line - the Descendants of George Mowrer & Catherine Ruby of Harrison County, Indiana. Peggy Byerly of Corydon, Indiana has also been involved in both of these projects. Peggy has taken hundreds of grave markers photos in the area of Harrison County, Indiana and has researched data and found obituaries posted on the Find-A-Grave web site for these two family lines.
I maintain two family history web sites on my McMonigle and Mowrer projects. If you are interested in viewing these sites, send me an email and I will send you the links. I am particularly interested in hearing from any related people or researchers who are related to any of the family lines.

NOTE - MOST OF THE MEMORIALS I CREATE ARE RELATED IN MY MAINTAINED EXTENDED FAMILY HISTORY AND I LINK THE MEMORIALS WHERE POSSIBLE. I REQUEST GRAVE PHOTOS WHEN NEEDED. I ALSO ADD OBITUARIES, PERSONAL PHOTOS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS AND IMAGES. I DISCOVER FROM TIME TO TIME WHERE SOMEONE HAS CREATED A BRIEF MEMORIAL FOR SOMEONE IN MY MAINTAINED FAMILY HISTORY. MANY OF THESE EXISTING MEMORIALS HAVE BEEN CREATED BY UNRELATED PEOPLE FROM CEMETERY DATA, CEMETERY VISITS, OBITUARIES, ETC. I MAY REQUEST A TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP FOR FURTHER UPDATING, LINKING TO OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, CONSIDERABLE EDITING, ETC. I ALSO GRANT THE SAME COURTESY TO OTHERS WHO MAY BE MORE CLOSELY RELATED TO DECEASED MEMORIALIZED ON THE FIND-A-GRAVE WEB SITE.

Raymond Pitt
Do not add Jennefer Fay Pitt to the record of Reba Shireman Pitt, as Jennefer was not her daughter.

Raymond Pitt
I should have typed World War II Naval Veteran in the obituary for Raymond Pitt. Please make that correction.

Thank You

RE: OBITUARY
I don't know why I don't have an obit for him, but will compose one from his funeral home book.

Mr Raymond Pitt, 56, of Dyersburg TN entered into rest on April 12, 1982 at Pemiscot County Hospital, Hayti, MO as the result of an unsolved homicide. A graveside service was conducted by Jerry Thompson, Minister, on April 14, 1982 at Rehobeth Cemetery, Roellen, Dyer County TN. Mr Pitt was a World War I Naval Veteran. He is survived by three sisters Ruth Forrester, Christine Coker and Evelyn Oliver and two brothers Frank Pitt and Hubert Pitt. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Mary Etta Ellis Pitt, a daughter Jennefer Fay Pitt, and his wife Reba Shireman Pitt.

RE: RAYMOND PITT
Raymond had no middle name. He was born in Dyer County TN. His death was a homicide by an unknown person(s). His body was found near Steele, Pemiscot County MO, and that was declared his place of death.

RE: EUGENE & NETTIE COOLEY
All the Southern California Forest Lawn cemeteries have their indexes online. I have found them to be quite complete. Go to forestlawn.com. Choose "Find a Service, Grave or Obituary". Choose "Grave". Choose the cemetery location you want to search. Type at least the first letter of the person's name and the full last name and click search. You'll get a listing of all the matches. Not all of the interments at Forest Lawn are on Find a Grave, so it's quite a resource!

RE: NETTA/NETTIE HAAS
I'd say Nettie is correct.

The only place her name shows as Netta throughout her entire life is on the California Death index, correct? The existence of a second entry in the index with the name Nettie leads me to believe this is a correction to the Netta. The "ie" ending, if handwritten, could easily be mistaken for an "a" in transcription. Her death certificate might shed some additional light on the subject.

Sound logical?
