just a History junkie, I have always been interested in the vast collection of history in every cemetery I passed through. Now that I have the time I just decided to try to get pictures of every stone I found in every cemetery I could get to. I have a friend who took photos a few years ago for Olahoma Cemeteries. I have noticed that many of the stones that she took photos of were 80 to 90 years old were still in fair shape (readable) but now the stones seem to have deteriorated to the point that they are not readable. I asked a few people what has happened in the last ten years that is causing these stones to decay much more than they did the eighty or more years before? A couple of people have said the reason is "acid rain" makes sense I guess so if that's the case we better get this history recorded. I am not a collector of memorials I just feel it is up to the living to remember the dead and help link the families so others can find there ancestors. The photos I take are posted to be shared I don't care about copyright as long as the purpose is to share with the family members. If there are family members who wish to maintain memorials that I have posted I will be glad to transfer to them as long as it's not from my family. Again I'm not in competition to see how many memorials I can make, it is just an O.C.D. thing (I'm crazy)! If I can help anyone find a long lost loved one it makes my day, I live in Adair County, OK. and will try to help find any grave within 100 miles of my home, good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise!|

You're welcome! I had a few others I put on there that were yours, I think. Hopefully spring will follow soon. I got lost up that direction today, traveled 15 miles on muddy, horrible clay roads before I finally made it back, came out at Watts...

|Kelly Swisher||Josephine Cox|
Hello! I am sending this note to let you know that you are mistaken on the location for Josephine Cox's grave.
She is buried in Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland Arkansas. She was my great aunt. Sister to my maternal grandfather, and is buried 3 graves away from my maternal grandmother.

Thanks for the transfer, I appreciate your help on my Mom's memorial and thank you for being a Find A Grave volunteer.
|Lloyd Brannon||Bill Brannon|
Thank you R. Burnett for the obituary on Bill Brannon. If there was a newspaper to be acknowledged, could you please advise.
Your information has increased the family tree by at least 11 members, of whom I will be researching.
Thank you for the obit...it has been added..Harv

Thank you, I guess I better try to catch them before they do the headstone. I would appreciate it very much if you would transfer it to me. Thank you so much.
|Linda Fletcher||Date on Floy Haggards Obit|
Floy is my mom. The date on the obit is wrong. She died at 3:18a.m. on the 25th of January. Myself and 2 of my sisters were by her side. Don't know why the date was put down wrong. A mistake at the funeral home. I hope they get it right on the headstone.
Hello from Austria !
Thank you for the interesting info.
All the best to you !
|McComberdescendant||RE: Nancy Hopper dates|
Sorry to take so long to reply, but I rarely get notices of messages these days. I don't know anything about Nancy after the 1920 census, when she is listed with her father and siblings. If she was buried with the surname Hopper, that may indicate an early death but I don't have confirmation of that. Would the cemetery have records?
|Glenita Randolph Guthrie||Obit|
Thanks Ray for the obit. It has been added.
