Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began contributing to Find A Grave as a means to record the headstone inscriptions I had transcribed from walking many cemeteries back in the day, mostly Audubon, Cass, Clarke, Madison, Polk and Warren counties in Iowa and mostly relatives. This was before Find A Grave and way before Find A Grave turned into a genealogical site. My main goal is to preserve what was written on the headstones and to learn about the people.

RE: Gideon Williams
I don't reckon there is any relationship between the two Piper families, that's too bad.
I haven't played the pipes in a few years, but had for 20 plus years. A most uniquely beautiful instrument, especially if one is able to master them.
It's said amongst pipers if a man plays the pipes, there by nature female. But if a woman plays then they are of course quite male in nature. No pun intended either way I hope.

Gideon Williams
Hi Karen,
Margo already has, or should have my email address as I've written her a few times on our mutual Lanning line that she claims she has proof of a particular marriage and for what ever reason she never has continued a dialogue. Nor has she ever provided the marriage info she claims to have.
So maybe I'm being a jerk, but at this time I don't see the necessity or any obligation to reveal any circumstantial evidences I have accumulated about this particular Williams line to her.
By my listing Gideon as Oren Capron Williams father simply allows other viewers an opportunity to see the possible connection, and therefore further their research, especially with ones that are willing to share information they claim to hold.
Noted on Public Family Trees and Find A Grave Gideon is listed as father to Oren, and husband to Fanny...mother of Oren...hmmm?
I don't expect you to be caught in the middle of this, so if it's easier for you go ahead and delete Gideon as Oren's father please do so. Nothing lost as other records support that claim.
I apology for any disruption of your peace this may bring your way.
Appreciate,
Piperclr

Are you related to this line?

Hi Karen,
I see you have Gideon Williams listed as Oren Capron Williams Father. I have been researching this line for at least 20 years and I have found no proof that Gideon is the father of Oren. Even though I have thought there might be a connection, there is not enough evidence to state that there is a father son connection here. Oren Capron Williams was born in 1822 in Saratoga New York.

If you or anyone else have been provided evidence to support this father/son connection, would you please e-mail me at mlurvey@juno.com. This is my brick wall Williams line.

Thank you
