Rader research
I was at Cox Library in Greeneville on Friday and met a man who was searching for a Rader who married Catherine "Caty" Peters about 1818 in Greene County. Is this someone that you also research? If so, he would like to talk with you.
Contact me at and I will give you his information. Thanks,
Shelby Morris

Family information
Hi Tom, My name is Ellen Powell and I am from Williford,Arkansas. My grandpa was Robert Charles Powell who was married to Bertha Rebecca Rader May 6th 1922. Do you have any information of who Johann Casper Rader's parents were? the most recent information I obtained was that he was born in Germany in 1731 and he died in 1811 in Virginia. He was married to Regina Rachel Gerhardt who was born in 1746 and died 1816. I am new to geneology and I could use the assistance. Thank you very much for your time.

David Carr Sweeney
David, I was hoping to photograph DCS's marker at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Wythe County, Va. I could not locate a marker, but cemetery records show a "David Sweney" buried in 1896, a "Mrs. Sweney" next to him, and then "DS" four spaces away. All of this is handwritten in the original cemetery record book. Do you think this is the same David Sweeney as your memorial? The death year is not the same. Thanks for any info you can provide.

You sent an edit for this man to add his parents. I am just questioning why his father was Jay B. Blue and not a Rader. Is this right?

RE: Quaker Knob
Hi Tom, I looked on Ancestry for the John BEALS headstone and now see why you said there was a stone. The headstone says John BALES and there is a memorial for John BALES with the same dates and spouse at Quaker Knob Cemetery. Same for his wife Louisa. I am going to ask you to delete the memorials for John BEALS and Louisa BEALS and we will keep the ones for John & Louisa BALES.

As for the other 2 BEALS that you added, there is not a duplicate under BALES for them. Both spellings are in this cemetery.

Then you had 2 other ones you'd listed, but I didn't go through to double check on them as I'd have to have gone through all 46 without photos to find them. I am assuming they weren't duplicates.

Thanks Tom!

RE: Quaker Knob
That's fine. I see there is no other John Beals in Greene Co. listed. Of course that name can be Bales, etc. I will check Ancestry later to see what that marker looks like out of curiosity. Quaker Knob has some really old markers, as you can imagine. I have sat on the ground and chalked them all, so I am pretty confident of what I found and didn't find. Also still have all my photos on a disk, so I'll check and make sure I didn't miss John Beals stone. Thanks Tom.

Jacob 'Jake Cobble
Thank you Tom for checking this out. I look forward to seeing what you find.
Jacob's wife, Sally RADER Cobble is a distant relative of mine and I don't have info on Jacob 'Jake' Cobble's family.
Thank you again.
