RE: Margaret Johnson Smith & Henry C. Smith
I'm glad that I could help. While doing some research on cemeteries in the area I discovered 3 small cemeteries on Culyer Hill. Some of them had been posted on Find A Grave. As you can see by the cemetery photo, it is very neglected. I doubt that there are any readable stones. But, you could contact the person that took the cemetery photos. Perhaps he can tell you more about the cemetery's condition.

RE: David S. & Eliza Brown tombstone
Imagine my surprise when I saw your email. I thought it was in regard to a 'Beardslee', since Beardsley is my maiden name! We should compare notes on that one. My William was born about 1605 in England, came to USA in 1635.
Anyway, we were told Patterson, so have been using it. I checked Celinda and John L., both say Peterson, Rachel's, my great-grandmother, says Brown. I shall change it.
Thanks, Chris

Cyrus J. Hardaway, son of May Ann Chatfield
Hi Barb, Welcome to Find A Grave! I come off the Chatfield line, you the Beardslee, so we meet in the middle from a very long time ago. Thank you so much for the link To Cyrus J. Hardaway' Civil War letters. Most interesting. Other cousins of mine published "The Chatfield Story: Civil War Letters and Diaries of Private Edward L. Chatfield of the 113th Illinois Volunteers..." by Terry M. McCarty and Margaret Ann Chatfield McCarty (Sep 17, 2009). It is amazing to have these windows from our ancestors. Nice to meet you, Catherine
