Postings combine my own research and that shared with the GC archives. My family has been in Greene County, PA for over 200 years on all lines of my tree. My top priority is photographing and accurately transcribing local tombstones. As I am able, I am adding family links and details.

About Greene Connections:
The Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Archives Project aims to (1) make rare ancestral and local history photographs/documents accessible, (2) identify unknown photograph subjects, and (3) educate and involve local organizations as well as the general public.
The Greene Connections web site and all related projects are free to access and have been researched and compiled on a volunteer basis.
Photographs/documents have been shared by families, individuals and local repositories such as the Cornerstone Genealogical Society, Greene County Historical Society and Waynesburg University Museum. Contributor credit and citation information are maintained and displayed with every photograph/document.

John Thomas Rinehart, your memorial #5064885 , is one of our direct line ancestors. I would very much appreciate it if you would transfer his page to mine which is Find A Grave Memorial# 113315725. I have him listed as Thomas Reinhart, Sr. because that is what he called himself in his will, but they look like the same man.

Elisabeth Burns Gardner, 79, Waynesburg, PA, died June 14, 1990 in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
She was born August 18, 1910, in Waynesburg, PA a daughter of Ross and Belva Ayres Burns.
Mrs. Gardner was a 1932 graduate of Waynesburg College. She received her Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
On June 11, 1936, she married Harry E. Gardner, who died November 24, 1972.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Women's Association of that church.
Surviving are two sons; Harry E.(Ann) Gardner, Jr. of Kingsport, TN, and John R.(Judy) Gardner of Waynesburg, PA; a daughter Sally G. Kenyon of Niagara Falls, NY; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Barbour, of Bethel, CN.--Behm Funeral Card.

Millard Gay Shriver, died Friday, May 3, 1974, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, after a lingering illness.
He was born May 15, 1899, at Daybrook, W. Va., a son of William Mark and Minerva Tennant Shriver.
He spent the early part of his life in the Daybrook vicinity and then 25 years at Brave. Mr. Shriver lived at Waynesburg since 1940.
Mr. Shriver was a member of the Kents Chapel United Methodist Church;
Tioga Lodge, No. 373, F and A.M. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Coudersport Consistory; the Syria Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. and the Peony Masonic Club.
He was also a charter member and past president of the Waynesburg
Lions Club and was a member of Waynesburg B. P. O. E., Lodge 757.
Mr. Shriver was employed for 42 years with the People's Natural Gas Company and the New York State Gas Company, having retired in 1962.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth Tustin Shriver, whom he married in 1926, one daughter, Mrs. James G. (Ruth) Davis of Waynesburg; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Ammons of Fairview, W. Va., and Mrs. Wilbur (Nettie) Taylor of Holbrook and two brothers, George T. Shriver and Adam C. Shriver, both of Waynesburg.
A granddaughter, Nancy Lynn Davis and two sisters are deceased.---Laura Nelle Poland Mallett

Waynesburg, PA: May 18 1924, Mrs. Nancy McGlumphy Braden aged 81 years wife of John Braden, of Elm Street. Waynesburg, died Thursday night. Three years ago Mrs. Braden fell and fractured her hip and never recovered from this injury. Complications developed which resulted in her death.
Mrs. Braden was born near Nineveh, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac McGlumphy, May 29, 1843. She was married in 1864 to Mr. Braden. Mr. and Mrs. Braden have lived in Waynesburg for the last 42 years. She was the member of the Baptist Church. Besides the husband, two brothers and one sister survive as follows: James McGlumphy, Burnsville; David McGlumphy, Wheeling WV; and Mrs. Lida McGlumphy of Pittsburgh.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The services were conducted by the Rev A. J. Morris, of First Baptist church of Waynesburg. The interment was in the Green Mount cemetery
