Because of fires, floods and loss, I started photographing all the markers in Jackson Co Michigan in Nov 2006. We've discovered the 1927 DAR WPA cemetery transcription project didn't have anyone actually walk any of the county cemeteries. They obtained the information from cemetery records, church records and neighbors. Fortunately for all of us this included records of those graves with no markers. Most of the early cemetery records have perished along with some of the cemeteries. Hopefully, we will be able to provide info for descendants of the early/current residents of Jackson County Michigan. By using census, marriage, death and local history information we try to make our entries as complete as possible. Email with info on your ancestors and we'll add them to any of our records. We'll be happy to help you in your search. |
Currently, I'm working on adding maiden names to as many memorials as possible.
As of 22 Aug 2009 Jackson Co FAG volunteers have 66,501 burials recorded, by Jan 2010 72,323 burials and by Jan 2013 101,483 burials. Many of the cemeteries have been completed with pics.
Please request edits, corrections & transfers thru the SAC tab (edit tab on the memorial page) and not here on the home page. Remember to check the new "edit" tab on your own homepage to see the corrections/additions sent to you.
Thanks to all those FAGer's who have trusted me to take care of their memorials and have transferred their memorials over to me while they take a leave from findagrave.
Not sure why my email disappeared from the contact info: firstname.lastname@example.org

Dear miss Hayes-Wolfe,
my name is Erwin de Mooij and I am the content webmaster for the 457th Bomb Group Association website.
At this moment I am working on a virtual cemetery/memorial on the website honering all 339 KIA/MIA/KIS of the group.
I saw your picture of Frederick Gauss' grave marker and I was wondering if I could use it for the memorial. If you made any other photos of 457th BG members would I be able to use these too?
We would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, you have photographed the stones in Mount Evergreen Cemetery. Since there is not one posted for Warren Standish should I assume their is not one - or no one has requested one?

Thank you so much for looking for Winford Griffith's marker! It's good to hear that his uncle was buried there. I'll make a note of that in my records.
Thank you so very much...sincerely appreciate your efforts in trying to locate BRAUN stone.
Thank you for all you do to help those of us from afar! Happy Spring!

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your contribution to 'Find-A-Grave' & for helping me to find, at last, Anna King. I have looked for her for well over 20 years, now, the only child on John King & Martha Creighton (my 2nd great-grandparents) I had not yet found! I was overjoyed to find her grave this past week, and to follow all the leads you so graciously provided & enabled!! Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!! Please know your hard work is greatly appreciated!
