PLEASE use the Edit tab and Suggest a Correction link to add/correct information. I try to get to them within 24 hours of receipt.|
I don't do estimated birth years. The relatives of the dearly departed not only could get the date of death wrong on the monument but the age at death. Too many people take anything they find on the Internet as gospel, and I will not contribute to that bad habit.
PLEASE use the Edit tab and Suggest a Correction to request a transfer. Please include your relationship. I will not transfer out of guidelines. Please spare me the "I am the family genealogist" and the "I have tons of information to add" stories. Use the edit system. Too many people have requested out-of-guidelines transfers and then never added so much as a comma to the memorial. Requests for bulk transfers will be summarily ignored.
I WILL NOT link to a "burial unknown". This IS a grave registration site.
If I do not maintain the memorial, but add a picture, PLEASE check the photo caption for the inscription.
My love of old cemeteries is genetic from my dad. I try to take pictures of the fallen/damaged markers first as they might end up "behind the shed" or "over the wall" by the next time I get there.

Thanks again for getting back. Please do add the photos you have. Appreciate it. The "Bull in the Field" is near Kilree, County Kilkenny. Didn't see any bull, though, or maybe the bull didn't see me. BTW, there must be a back story to the Dobsonfly?

thank you so much. And thanks for all the work you do. It's hard to believe that I have over 18,500 photos on Find A Grave. Be well.

I love finding these little stories. Glad I was able to help you know a little more about your relatives.
|SonofaBourbeau||RE: Pre-need memorials|
P.K., The last sentence of my last message to you should have read "As a relative of Stephen, I am bothered that the first memorial created for him was not deleted immediately after it was requested to be." Additionally, this contributor refuses to answer any inquiries about this.
So, all fine print rules and Find A Grave guidelines aside, until the first memorial created is deleted, I will remain bothered by this. As one of Stephen's blood relatives, I would like very much to see the first memorial deleted.
|SonofaBourbeau||RE: Pre-need Memorials|
Hi, thanks for your input.
My cousin Stephen M Bourbeau died on Oct. 31 of 2016. When I went to memorialize him I found he had a memorial created in 2007 by a contributor, and the dates of birth and death were both listed as "unknown". So for 9 years this memorial sat uncared for, no pertinent information, and God forbid Stephen himself ever Googled his own name, he would have found a memorial claiming he was dead. I created an after death memorial for him, and asked the contributor who created the first memorial to please delete the other, but as of today the other memorial still remains, unlinked and no flowers, no purpose other than, in my opinion, to add one more memorial to the contributor who created it. I feel that no memorial should be created unless you actually know that the individual has actually died! As a relative of Stephen, I am bothered that the first memorial created for him should was deleted immediately after it was requested to be.
Would you be willing to transfer Manley Milton Mowry and Lilla Josephine Mowry to me? My father, brother and sister and our families are the only descendants. If you were able to photograph the gravestones of their daughters, Mary Elizabeth Mowry (1879-1965) and Lucy White Mowry Baird and Lucy's husband, Everett Jamieson Baird, we would appreciate it.

FYI see Arvilla & her daughter "Lizzie"
Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you made the effort, and for giving me the additional information. Continue to tell people why you decline their requests...it is a good thing to do. Thanks!
