Cemeteries provide me with an instant state of serenity. They are wonderful places to go and clear my head, as well as spark my imagination as I wonder about all of the people buried there. They are historical, I always learn something new in a cemetery. |
I just read several complaints on another website about findagrave.com. Some people claim that it is morbid and hurtful to the surviving families to take photos of their loved ones' graves. I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. It is a tribute to those people that have passed on. I hope they come to understand this eventually. Everyone deserves to be remembered, even if it's with the assistance of modern technology and the internet. It's also a fantastic tool for people tracing their family roots.
I have been taking photos of graves for quite some time and have never had one single complaint directed to me yet. I certainly hope I never do, as I feel I'm doing something good, with the intention to honor, not exploit, the deceased.

Hi Patti...glad to have helped...read your bio and totally agree about photos taken to remember those who have passed...I thought it was odd last week that the caretaker from a Lancaster Cemetery told me "I hope your not doing this for Find a Grave because they ask for money to take pictures"...I had to set him straight and say that it was a hobby and wasn't for profit...I'm hoping some gr-great grandkids find the photos I've posted!! You're sure welcomed...I'm ironically about to go back to visit the Lounsburys' cemetery again after a couple years absence...and if it doesn't rain ~ :°)

You are very welcome!

I had previously requested links that were incorrect, but I corrected them for her father John Cottrell, and spouse Jessie Dennison.
I came across a memorial for John P Samson, Memorial # 71434635, that you have put up. Then as I was doing more research, I came across a memorial for Mary L. Samson, Memorial # 71434559. The headstones are very similar, so I'm wondering if there is any way to tell whether they are linked as husband and wife? If there is any way you can let me know, I would truly be greatly appreciative.
Thanks so much for all the work you do!
Don't know if you read your messages but it appears that a family member of Anielka Baginski has input her family information. You may wish to delete your memorial.

I found the picture and info you put up on Charles A Justin and wondered if the headstone of his wife or children were there also?
