Your wife and me are 2 cousins

Thanks for getting back to me! I just wasn't sure since the other Haynes had stones and Lela just had a small plate, with no info/dates. Neither of the memorials had a location so wasn't sure. I am no relation so I don't need the transfer. The newspaper had the spelling as Leila, but then I've found other odd spellings especially the older papers. Probably the same person.

I was doing some newspaper research and found a Lelia Haynes who died Jan. 4, 1963. I think its the same person. If so, she was the daughter of Rena and William, who I think you did the memorials for. If you'd like more info, let me know and I can send. If you have access to newspapers, her obit is in the Jan. 4, 1963 Anniston Star. No info found on the father or why the date of her mother's death isn't on the grave stone.

As a follow-up to my last message, it could also be that the boundaries of the cities/counties changed between his birth and 1942. If so, that could account for a discrepancy between records.

This information is from his WWII draft reg card (Apr 1942). Given that these docs are considered a primary source, signed by the person in the presence of the registrar (or signed by the registrar if he person is present but unable to sign for themselves), they're usually reliable...well, as reliable as any record is. (I have rellies who were "creative" in the information they provided on certain forms...always a challenge with them!)
Btw, I'm not a relative. Recently I've been indexing KY WWII draft records for FamilySearch and, when I have time, I'll pop onto FG to see if I can provide additional information to families who may not have these records.
Please feel free to decline if this information does not align with your records.

I am so sorry that it took me so long to answer you. I can't post a better picture because I got the photo from Ancestry. You might try to look it up too and request a better picture from that person.

No, I don't need you to transfer it to me. The contributor of the second submission is a first cousin and lives nearby. She can look after the grave. Thanks for removing the duplicate, however.
