Retired public relations executive, inspector, newspaper columnist, fine arts artist, short story writer, "Ghost writer" and author of more than 35 books, including CHEESMAN FAMILY HERITAGE, The CHEESMAN DOSSIER, CHEESMAN DOSSIER II: RELATED FAMILIES, and The ILLUSTRATED GARDEN OF STONES Cemetery Book series.|
It's difficult to read many old burialstones, depending on the style and technique of the stone engraver, or simply depending on age, wear and mother nature... an 8 might be taken for a 3, or a 5 might be mistaken for a 6, among other numeral combinations. Also bear in mind that some stone carvers have made mistakes because the written material for them to inscribe from was not always clear or legible.
If I am found to have misread a monument, let me know and I will promptly correct it as soon as I am able. Except for the cemeteries that I've worked on and have written about, my primary focus is on Cheeseman - Cheesman - Chessman and all variations of the surname, people related and associated to these families, and their their close friends.
I usually go on-line about once a month more or or less... Quite frankly, I don't trust or really care for computers because of so much misinformation, dirt, viruses and trechery that's commonly posted on them. Find-a-grave is one of the very few sites that I trust and go on.
I am certainly and genuinely always happy to hear from relatives and friends, and will try to respond to inquries as soon it is possible.
Your thoughts and messages are important to me, but I am slow at times, so please be patience.
Surnames that I am primarily focused on for a new book in progress:
Augastat / Augustat, Baker, Bernabe, Besser, Cheesman / Cheeseman / Cheseman, Chesman / Chessman, / Chisman, Clark, Cox, Cupps, Friar / Fryer, Hedger, Herrin / Herring / Heron, Hughes, LaHa, Laundry / Landrie, Plough, Sexton, Thornburg / Thornburgh, Valentine, Willson / Wilson.
Associated surnames; Brennecke, De Floris, Pellizzaro, Ramos, Renaud, Somogyi, Stachowski / Stackowski, among others.

|IVAN YATES||Grave of Jehu Buck|
I am doing family research and currently looking at the Buck graves in Granville Cemetery, Tippecanoe Co on the Wea Plains, Indiana. I notice that Jehu death is more like 18th April 1873, rather than your date 1877, as his mother Elizabeth died in 1874. There is a also a John Buck headstone and I am not sure who his parents are, so am inquiring if he also belongs to Robert & Elizabeth Buck.
Regards Ivan yates.

|c d||Cheesman in Berlin Cemetery|
I am not sure if you saw my previous message.
I am adding: Raymond and Clare G. Cheesman
Clara C. wife of Wm. W. Cheesman
and want to add:
Edward 1879-1961 and his wife, Mathilda 1886-1959
is this Edward the same as Edward Fort Cheesman?
Also, still trying to find graves in Blackwood and Erial. I have had 2 cancelled meetings with the person in Erial because of her health, and I am suppose to meet her 3/30. Blackwood Pres. told me they will send someone to look for graves. I was there today in vicinity they told me, but couldn't find them. The older cemetery is in poor condition.

I have some original funeral invitations of your family. Thought you might be interested in knowing that and am willing to share the info from them. you may already know it but still wanted to let you know I have them
|c d||Erial and Berlin Cheesman|
I have walked Erial Cemetery 3 times and cannot find the Cheesmans I was searching for there.
Erial Cemetery is located at a Christian School/
Church. I am only in the area on the weekends, but did contact the school and today they gave me a number to call about the cemetery. I will call the person tomorrow. I have not given up, hopefully I can at least get an idea where they are buried. I found 4 Cheesman in the Berlin Cemetery. They are Raymond W. Sr. 1913-1984 and his wife, Clare G. 1918-1986 and Edward(could this be Edward Fort?) 1879-1961 and his wife, Mathilda 1886-1959. These Cheesman are not listed in the Berlin Cemetery . I'm not sure if you are aware that I believe 1, maybe 2 men have made duplicate memorials for Cheeseman that are the same as your info, and there are also photos for many of the graves at Berlin Cemetery. When I looked at all the memorials, I noticed that quite a few were the same as yours, but some are Cheeseman at the cemetery. Perhaps you would like to write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I met a woman at Berlin Cemetery whose late husband was related to
to Cheesemans, and she also has one of your books...small world.

Thanks so much for transferring her memorial to me. I will get her information entered as soon as possible. Find A Grave is a wonderful site for genealogy research. Keep up the great work.
