|I have studied the families that settled Green Hill in Warren County,Indiana for many years. My families there include BAILEY; DAWSON; MEARS; and others. Wallace Bailey and Chesafy Dawson were my grandfather Perry Owen Bailey's parents. Perry and wife Aggie (Cox) Bailey are buried at Roselawn Cemetery in Newton County,as are many of my Bailey, David and Cox ancestors I enjoy taking photos at the cemeteries and helping others who are working on their family histories. I try to take photos of old stones that are in danger of becoming unreadable If I post any dates or other information that anyone thinks is an error. Please email me and we will make needed changes. If my photos are marked w/ a date and my name, please email me and I can send a clear photo via email to you. Thanks e.r.bailey|

|John Wolfgang||Cowgill / Timmons|
Hi. I helped you with Bailey photos here in Gresham, Oregon, and you told me about your Cowgill & Timmons info. I have a couple of questions about Timmons if you care to assist.
My grandfather is Joel Cowgill born in Green Hill and buried in Washington Park East, Indpls.
His father was Solon Palmer Cowgill buried at Harveysburg. His father was the Rev. Joel Cowgill that you added from Davis Cemetery. So, he is my g/g grandfather, I believe. My aunt gave us a picture of "Grandma Timmons" who is Mary Jane Timmons Cowgill.
Looking at your entries on Find A Grave for Rev. Joel Cowgill, it looks like he married sisters, Huldah first and then Martha, is that correct?
And under your photo #2 for Rev. Joel Cowgill, you have "stone shared with his first wife Huldah and his wife Martha(Watkins)? Do you know who the Watkins refers to?
So the Rev. Joel Cowgill AND Huldah AND Martha are all (3) buried there and share 1 gravestone?
Thank you for your help.

This is interesting!
My grandfather was Joel Cowgill b. 1894-d.1969
from Green Hill, Warren Co. and Kingman, but moved to Indianapolis.
his father was Solon Palmer Cowgill (Kingman)
his mother was Mary Jane Timmons b.1844-d.1926
and her mother was Mary Eleanor Bailey! 1807-1848
(is that your namesake?). Are you related to her?

Thank you for your note. That is so funny. When I went to upload the photo of James Bailey, I read that he was from Indiana. (I am always interested in what brought people West to Oregon). I noted it because my grandfather, Joel Cowgill, was from Kingman, Green Hill, Warren County area. I have been doing research on both of the Cowgill and Hershberger (my grandmother) lines. I did not know about Davis Cemetery. Where is it located. My grandfather's father (also Joel Cowgill) married Mary Jane TIMMONS. So, I'm sure there are some connections there. I'll be researching it.
Thanks for the information.
Just curious what you know about James Bailey and why he & his wife might have moved to Oregon.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting information for her on here. She is my gg-grandmother through her son Claude. I had no idea who her parents were. Thanks!
|Larry Mann||RE: Hello|
I'm finally gaining a little more knowledge on technology, slowly ! My 3rd or 4th cousin Ed Mann asked about you, he's the one who asked you about the Green Hill book. He also sent me a copy of the microfilm that show the birth records of J. Jacob Mann from a church in Munchingen, Germany. Take care.
I just added flowers to some of my ancestors, Manns and Catherwoods.(Find-a-Grave) Hope you're doing well and hope to see you this Spring !

Yes, I would love to have a copy of her obituary. She was a sister to Eliza, who was my husband's great-grandmother.
I noticed that you are working on those who settled in Greenhill in Warren County.
I am also looking for any information on Enos Rush, born 1817 Ohio died 1872 prob. Warren County, Indiana and his first wife Sarah Rhoades died abt 1860.
