DO NOT LEAVE TRANSFER OR LINKING REQUESTS ON THE MESSAGE PAGE. USE SUGGEST A CORRECTION.
To our newer members:
Linking was not available when f-a-g started. That is why you see most older files are not linked.
Allowed photo size was much smaller, it has gradually increased through the years.
from the FAQS:
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Explain your relationship in the request" (Transfers are recent also.)
Please remember the f-a-g rule from the FAQs.
You should NEVER deliberately create a duplicate memorial.
Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days. Exceptions to this rule are available in the FAQs. Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
FROM THE FAQ's -
Please limit the number of "Suggest a correction" requests you send to an individual contributor to no more than 20 per week. Most of our contributors are unable to make updates on the same day a request is sent in. Please allow thirty days from your original request before contacting Find A Grave about the lack of activity.
If you add a photo to a memorial, feel free to let me know.

Thanks anyway for responding. My Ancestry file is Personal and Private. I have it marked to not be found in searches. Just wanted you to know. I am trying to keep everything just my own because I too have done a lot of research and can appreciate what you are saying. Jan
|Nancy E. (Nancy Jean) Graves||Question for you|
I understand about no duplicate memorials, but what if the government has managed to create a memorial, and a local government created another memorial to honor the same person- that is- a soldier who was killed in action over seas. I had an uncle that happened to. I solved that problem by getting the two separate, geographically located memorials linked. The sites of the stones were in different locations. His body was never recovered. To me, that would be an exception to the rule. Would that not be an exception?
|Nancy E. (Nancy Jean) Graves||RE: John Payne|
I managed to find a location, even if the stone is located in a different location than his actual burial location. I need to note the difference of the location on his page. Will do that shortly. Some of my relatives are, who knows where. With sketchy documentation, Locations are merely a guess, unfortunately. Money can also be a factor.
